Question: data transfer from mac air to mac neo
hello, i've been having difficulties transferring stuff from my old to new mac.
i recently spilled water on my macbook air and broke it. the screen still lights up when it's plugged in, and the touch id works to open and restart it, but the all keys and the touchpad are unresponsive and completely unusable. I can't login with touch id because it says i must type in my password first, which i obviously can't do.
i brought it to apple and they said it would cost around $900+ to repair, basically the cost of the original laptop...so just to last me around 2 more years, we bought the mac neo basic.
when transferring data, I tried connecting a mouse and keyboard, but it said new accessories can only be applied after signing in, and i have not previously connected to wireless mice or keyboards that it would recognize and be able to connect to without having to sign in.
i'm quite stuck as to how i can approach transferring data like this. is there any hope?
(p.s. i'm not very tech savvy, please tell me if there's anything that needs to be specified to clarify the issue)
