I screenshot everything.

Memes, addresses, confirmation numbers, restaurant hours, stuff I want to send. my camera roll is basically thousands of tiny pieces of information I was apparently **terrified** of losing.

Today I was updating a restaurant menu in menuforma and needed to send a coworker one small section of what I was looking at.

Muscle memory kicked in.

Cmd + shift + 4, crop it, screenshot lands on my desktop, send it, forget about it forever.

Recently I bought it to work. Coworker noticed and said: "Why don't you just copy the screenshot?"

...what?

Apparently if I hold control while doing the screenshot shortcut, it goes straight to the clipboard instead of creating another random file.

So now it's just screenshot → paste → done. No desktop graveyard.

I've been using a Mac for YEARS. I currently have 137 screenshots sitting on my desktop.

Ah........ I feel like someone just told me the microwave has a popcorn button.

I’m considering buying a MacBook Neo, but I’m not sure whether I would actually use it enough to justify the purchase.
I’ve never really worked from a laptop before, and even now I rarely use one. I do almost everything for my business from my phone. My work is mainly managing Instagram and using websites or apps such as Wizz Air, Ryanair, Booking.com and Revolut.
Would the MacBook Neo be a good choice for this kind of light use? Since I’m not sure how often I’ll use it, I would prefer to buy a cheaper model rather than spend a lot on a laptop that might just sit unused.
Would you recommend getting the Neo, buying a different inexpensive laptop, or not buying one at all unless I actually feel that I need it?

I currently own an iPad 9th generation, but I have barely used it over the past two years—my usage has been limited to occasionally watching TV shows and studying for my visa and final exams.

I'm now thinking of selling the iPad and buying an M1 MacBook instead, since I'd prefer not to spend too much money. My main use cases for the MacBook would be everyday tasks, some MATLAB coding, and watching Blu-ray movies by connecting it to TV.

this won't be my main pc, I already have rtx laptop for heavy lifting. I plan to use the M1 MacBook as a secondary device for light work and as a shared family laptop.

Given this intended usage, do you think the M1 MacBook will hold up well for the next six years?

And is 8gb okey or should i definitely buy 16gb ram?

Found 6 Macbook Pros all in silver/grey

• 2 are model number a2141 (Intel?) with the 'icon' bar at the top of the keyboard.
• 4 are model number a2780 (M2?) no 'icon' bar

They all need some cleaning but 5/6 power on and boot to the recovery screen asking me to select a wifi connection.

The 6th boots to the welcome start screen saying hello in a bunch of languages.

I have no power cables but was able to get a successful charge using a usb-c cable

I can't do much with them right now at work. Are these worth to try and clean up, give to family or friends to use or is the technology to far out of date to be worth it? The only Apple device I presently use is a Mac Mini. I do not use an iPhone.

I have the opportunity to buy a 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 chip and 16GB RAM for $400 USD.

Do you think that’s still a good buy in 2026?
My main use cases would be:

-Running local code / development work
-General everyday use
-Some video editing

I’m less concerned about having the newest MacBook and more interested in whether the original M1 still holds up performance-wise.
The 16GB RAM is appealing to me, but I’m wondering if there are any downsides to buying a 6-year-old M1 Mac at this point,battery age, macOS support, performance with newer software, etc.
Assuming it’s in good physical condition and the battery isn’t completely shot, would you pay $400 for it? Or would you spend more and get a newer M-series Mac instead?

Would especially love to hear from anyone still using an M1 MacBook Pro for coding or video editing.

Help me. Sister messed with a brand new school issued MacBook neo and it's Stuck in recovery mode. Can someone tell me how to get it out of recovery mode? I need to set it up again. I need to use it for school an I do not want issued with my school. If anyone can help, thank you!

I need a Power BI software for my work and it only available on windows. i looked up the internet and recommended to install vmware fusion for installing windows 11 on mac. I am a beginner using mac. i need a pov of yall that have already installed the virtual machine stuff like that. Thank you

Hello all i hope you're having a nice day or night. I am heavily considering a new macbook from my ipad 9th gen. i need something that does browsing and watching shows fine with slight workloads like coding or multitasking. I also prioritize battery life which the neo offers well enough too. i plan to keep the device for over 5 years potentially nearing 8. is it worth spending the extra 400-450 dollars in this case for the 16gb of ram and m4 chip. i dont know much and the differences in terms of usage only numbers. any help is appreciated.

Hey everyone I was wondering which laptop would be better for me for work. I usually can have up to 10 tabs on google and safari each I have a MBP M5 16gb 1tb at work so it handles that load perfectly fine but not sure if the air would be able to do the same unless it’s a higher model which could be close to j getting a Pro atp.
