Looking to upgrade old M1 MacBook

Budget $1000-2000

I'm looking to upgrade my old M1 MacBook Air 8GB 256GB SSD for a used/refurbished MacBook Pro for college. I was interested in the MacBook Pro specifically for the better screen on the but all new MacBook Pro's start at $2000 and I feel like I can get a used one for much better value in Ram/SSD/Chip. I saw there was MacBook M1 Pro's selling for $700-1000 which seems like a really good value and I'd honestly prefer getting an older generation specifically for the Space Gray color but I don't mind getting something else in another color if it's going to be better value for my money

What MacBook Pro should I get?

Back to the Basics Challenge

Level 1 (EASY): Images 2-4

Rules:

  • You must wear a PSAGT helmet, an IBA OTV vest, and full BDU Apparel for the look
  • You are only allowed a set of NVGs, wristwear, and the 1476A pack with US Woodland camo
  • You are only allowed to use the M16A2 as your gun but you have unlimited customization
  • You can use any vehicles
  • You can buy an unlimited number meds/deployables

This is the most basic version of this challenge and will test you to see how far you can get in Openworld with just a M16A2 as your weapon

Level 2 (MEDIUM): Images 5-6

Rules:

  • You must wear a PSAGT helmet, an IBA OTV vest, and full BDU Apparel for the look (again)
  • You are only allowed to customize the loadout with FREE* items (AN/PVS-14, AR-15 Scope, etc.)
  • You are only allowed to use the M16A2 as you gun but only with customization that's free
  • You are only allowed the Basic Jeep for personal transportation (sole exception*)
  • You can still except rides from other players
  • You cannot use any suppressors or backpacks as those will all cost some money
  • You can only use meds/deployables that are free

This level of the challenge tests you by placing you back into the shoes of a new player who is stingy with their money, saving up to buy something else, so now you're stuck only using basic free items for your loadout (minus the jeep) until you've earned enough to buy your next weapon

Level 3 (HARD): Images 7-8

Rules:

  • You must wear a PSAGT helmet, an IBA OTV vest, and full BDU Apparel for the look (again)
  • You cannot customize anything in your loadout, even if its free
  • You can only use a basic M16A2 without any modifications
  • You can only travel around the map by taking rides on other player's vehicles
  • You can still use meds/deplorables that are free

This is one of the hardest levels for this challenge that strips away everything from you except for the knowledge and skill you have of the game. This is the final and true test of strength to see just how far you can take the basic noob loadout in Open world

Level 4 (EXTREME): no Images

Rules:

  • Rules are the exact same from level 3 except...
  • You cannot use any free meds/deployables
  • You cannot join a squad
  • You can only accept transportation from other players
  • You can only receive healing from other players

This is the Hardest level of the challenge. You cannot touch your loadouts, cannot touch the Armory, and you cannot join a squad; Simple. It would be as if you just started playing BRM5 and immediately left the FOB to start clearing compounds without knowing what's ahead of you

See how long you can try to survive without the support of any squad markers or your own personal healing. Good luck

Items disappearing in Zombie Mode?

I go out to the QZ all my magazines are suddenly empty when I equip my gun, despite 3 magazines being filled in my inventory, so I have no ammo and die to zombies. I try to heal with my bandages and all of them now disappear and later my back-panel too disappears.

It's worth noting, I am running dual backpacks so maybe it's because of that but has anyone else experienced this?

99% Accurate US Infantry, Ranger, Combat Medic, and Delta Loadout

u/Saplingseedsacfan — 3 months ago

My Zombies Loadout

Primaries: MP5A4, P-90, or MX-R Tremor 5.56

Secondary: Mk 27 Mod 2

Melee: SOFCAT Dagger

Any recommendations to improve my load out? (I mean if any of my attachments don't make sense realistically) (I also use SMG mags on the front because there are no ammo pouches for 33x extended pistol mag)

u/Saplingseedsacfan — 3 months ago

How does the MCX family compare to the other weapons in game?

I watched some old rankings made by Jaythykay which ranks all the guns in game but now there’s the new MCX family with the 5.56 and .300 KO options all with different damage and velocity values and I can’t wrap my head around around how much better or worse it is compared to the M4A1

The Complete Solo Guide for BRM5 Zombies

Primary:

Weight is everything in this game mode and will determine if you live or die. Ditch whatever is your current primary and buy an SMG; All guns headshot in this game mode so there's no use in using anything heavier. The best guns for this game mode are the MP5A4 and PP-2000 because they both use 9x19mm and weight nothing while having zero recoil and can shoot fast when you encounter any hordes of zombies. Equip a suppressor, light 4x scope and a light foregrip; Ditch all other unnecessary attachments. I recommend a 4x scope mainly because it gives you the flexibility to shoot zombies at farther ranges which does come in handy for picking off horde before they can all rush you. If you truly want to go for minimum weight then ditch scopes altogether or use an ECHO P2 if you must use an extremely lightweight red dot.

Secondary:

Any pistol works but use a pistol that is 9x19mm and has the 30 bullet extended mags. You'll mainly be using you pistol for tight spaces like stairways and for picking off daytime zombies as you run across the map so having more ammo to not constantly reload is extremely helpful and the extended mags also save more weight. Chose the lightest suppressor and equip an ECHO P2 which is the lightest pistol sight.

Melee:

If you're skilled enough you can one tap any straggler zombie reliably by zooming into first-person and aiming for the head first. If you prefer this kind of playstyle, use the Downrange Tomahawk as it has good melee range but if you just prefer to minimize your weight then just use the SOFCAT Dagger which weighs essentially nothing.

Backpack:

STOP USING THE ATTACK 2! YOU DON'T NEED ALL THAT EXTRA INVENTORY SPACE IT WILL JUST END UP GETTING YOU KILLED! Seriously, unless you're with a squad of other people, the M9 Medical Assault Backpack is your best option; it has the lowest weight per slot and weight is everything. If you must have more inventory space you go with the 1476A but seriously, instead of carrying around all that extra stuff you can just EXFIL before night and resupply at the Aircraft Carrier so why bother weighing yourself down for a few extra things that won't even be used before nightfall.

Medical:

Bandages and Dressing weight literally nothing so take as much as you need. I recommend about 8-12 of each, more if your doing a raid, and at least 1-3 vitamins to save on your bandages and dressings if you're really low health or need to revive a teammate. Always heal yourself if you're below 80% health since taking constant damage drains your hunger and you'll find yourself always running low on food if you don't heal frequently, its also just good practice to constantly keep yourself around 100% hp.

Ammo:

3 Spare SMG Magazines and 2 Spare Secondary Magazines if you're using the extended mags, any more and you'll start weighing too much, any less and you'll find yourself running out of ammo; Speaking of more ammo, always bring ammo boxes.

"But how do I fill ammo boxes, The only ones that are sold are sold as empty?"

Yes, buy those, about 2-5 empty ammo boxes and then go to the "Fill ammo box" station left of the "Fill Magazine" Station. Sometimes it doesn't fully fill all of them right away and this also goes for you spare magazines, this is because there's a cooldown to refill, so you'll have to wait around and keep trying to refill until they're all full. You can also buy some extra loaded mags and use those into your ammo boxes if you don't want to wait.

Food:

So you might've not known this but the Food at the Aircraft Carrier does restock it's 1 Beef stew and Water every few minutes. Instead of taking just 1 of each every time you go out, wait around a bit in the Aircraft Carrier until it restocks and buy 2-3 of each so you don't have to waste time scavenging for food in the wasteland. BTW if you're running low on space you can swap the beef stew in your 4th slot and hold 2 waters instead of 1 to clear an extra slot space.

If you are out in the wasteland and need desperately need food the best place to check is apartments as there's usually 3 rooms with kitchenettes that'll typically contain some fresh food and drink, DO NOT EAT ROTTEN FOOD OR DIRTY WATER, just don't.

Gas Mask and Filters:

You NEED a gas mask and filters for this game mode. Lots of locations are locked behind the virus contaminated areas and you'll have to run a long ways around them to different city blocks if your path happens to be blocked by one. Buy and equip a Gas Mask from in your loadout before spawning in as an operator so you don't have to constantly buy the one from the shop. As for filters, you really don't need too many if you're just passing through some of these areas but if you're spending a long time like at the hospital its good to have at least 3-4 with at least one rare one. At a maximum I would have no more than 9 on hand as they are always going to be helpful and having more will let you share will people that are running low. You can find lots of filters in the virus contaminated areas so it's a good investment to buy a few filters from the shop before going out and looting from those areas to constantly keep your supply up.

Important Note:

**Pack a Higher amount of Medical, Ammo, and Food supplies if doing a raid

**Pack a Higher amount of Filters if doing a Mission in the Hospital

Map:

You've probably noticed that there is none; Exactly. Open google and search "BRM5 Zombies Map" and look at the layout. As you play this game mode more and more you'll slowly familiarize yourself with the map and eventually locations will become second nature to you. Knowing where EXFIL locations and Safe spots are at, to go to before nightfall, is crucial for your survival. If you don't know where you're currently at on the map check the street signs for the street you're currently on and look for an intersection with two of these street signs to figure out where precisely that is on the map, then position yourself with where you want to go.

Missions:

This is one of the few ways you can earn money and operator tokens in this game mode. I'd recommend doing EASY and MEDIUM missions if you're solo and saving the HARD or EXTREME missions for a larger squad. Some missions will require you to find things like medicals supplies: scalpel, tweezers, medical scissors, an IV bag and these things are always hard to come by. These best way to find these items are mostly from medical bags found in apartment rooms, virus location areas, or anywhere in the hospital. If you're doing a mission and can't get all the items before nightfall just exfil and wait to do the mission another time once you have all the items and redo the mission; it'll auto complete if you have all the stuff all you need to do then is EXFIL. If you want you can queue more than one mission at a time so you don't have to EXFIL after just one. If you can't complete them all in time before nightfall just EXFIL and any previous mission already completed will count. Some missions also won't tell you where to go so you'll just have to search up a guide on where to go if you're having trouble.

Leaving Early:

Let's say you need to get off the game early but you don't want to lose all your progress, what do you do? You may have noticed a message appear when encountering an enemy NPC or Zombie where you got a 0:30 timer at the top right of your screen that says "In combat." What that means is if you exit out of the game while that timer was active you'll be considered dead by the game and when you restart you'll have to respawn as a survivor or waste an operator token. If you leave the game while out in the wasteland without being in combat you'll just respawn somewhere else at random with all your stuff and if you leave while at the Aircraft Carrier you'll just spawn there.

Raids:

You may have noticed an orange indicator frequently appearing around the map saying something like: "KISMET RAID, SHEEPDOG RAID or FEDERAL RESERVE RAID." If you're familiar with how the Bunker work in Open world, the Raids in zombies function almost entirely similar to that, without the money from taking out enemies part, obviously. To start a Raid you need to be standing close in the area before the timer hits zero or else you'll miss it. Raids can be a great way to make lots of money in zombies where the KISMET Raid will spawn servers worth $900 each and the FEDERAL RESERVE RAID will spawn Gold and Silver Bars worth $2,500 and $1,500 respectively. Similar to Standard Open world you'll need A LOT of spare ammo and medical supplies to complete these Raids effectively as you'll encounter a lot of enemies inside. This is one of the best ways to make money in this game mode and I would highly recommend bringing people along with to do Raids effectively.

Keys:

As you've been looting around the map you may have come across some keys. There are the useless keys which are useless, don't bother picking them up, and there are Rare keys that will open some locked rooms in specific areas around the map. If you know where to find these rooms they will have lots of good loot inside so I recommend you to search every area as these areas will almost always have more fresh food, medical supplies, and filters than your typical apartment and there may even be some expensive items to sell back at the carrier if you're lucky. You can find where to use your key by watching a video and finding the location for your key so good luck.

Nightfall:

From 18:00 to 06:00 the map will go dark and zombies will become much more active and dangerous. Running around at night or firing a gun even with a suppressor will almost always guarantee a massive horde of zombies comes towards your location, even if you're indoors. It's best to avoid going outside at night altogether as if you're caught off guard and make any loud noises dozens of zombies will spawn in and start chasing you. It's recommended to find shelter or EXFIL around 16:00 but note the time between 16:00 and 18:00 does slow down to help give you some time to get to cover before nightfall. If you happen to be caught out at night and need to quickly escape a swarm of zombies you can slow them down with obstacles in the road or outright fully stop them by climbing on top of a tall van or yellow road sign. These obstacles are the only things zombies can't climb on top of so they could save you in a pinch. Technically you can go out safely at night but you to sneak around by being crouched or prone pressing C or X and never walking or running as that'll attract zombies and NEVER FIRE your gun at night even with a suppressor. To kill zombies at night just use a melee weapon as it won't make a sound to attract other zombies, Night mode can essentially be as easy as daytime if you stay completely crouched the whole time and only use a melee weapon. If someone on your squad accidentally fires a shot off in the night its best to run far away from that unfortunate soul.

Weight:

Weight is everything in this game mode. If you can keep everything below 15 kg / 33.07 lbs you'll incur no speed penalty and be able to run away from the fast runner zombies. Of course, as you're looting some items you'll pick up to bring back to the Carrier will put you well over this limit but understand that keeping your inventory further below 15kg and taking in something that will give you a speed penalty is much better than constantly being stuck with a speed penalty due to your weight being over 15kg 24/7, THEN, adding additional speed penalty from wasteland loot you picked up that'll make you even slower. I cannot express to you how important weight is for this game mode as I now almost never die in the wasteland because I can tuck tail when there's too many zombies to deal with at any given time. It's absolutely imperative that you minimize your weight by ditching attachments, heavy scopes, and superfluous magazines to optimize your agility as it will be the number one thing to keep you alive in the wasteland.

If you have any other questions about this game mode I'll answer them but this should cover just about everything so take this information and use it to the best of your ability.

Easy Quality of life change to fix max Card Levels in Clash Royale for good

[Future proofing Lvl 17 and beyond]

We know it’s inevitable that Lvl 17 comes to the game as ever level before 16 was succeeded but I have a solution that’ll ease the frustrations players have with these anticipated future levels so that players can be more at ease by the grind for lvl 17 cards

  1. Future card levels will be on a 3 year time gap

• Players will know exactly when future level arrives to the game similar to new anticipated Town halls levels in Clash of Clans in December

  1. Max level upgrade costs remains at a fixed value; lesser card levels all become less expensive

• Costs of current max level cards will always remain at a fixed rate of around 120,000 gold + 7500 commons, 1400 rares, 180 epics, 20 legendaries, and 20 champions to upgrade; this measure ensures a new level added to the game—such as level 17–will always remain at the cost of a level 16 card’s upgrade before the level 17 update and, in turn, all costs of lower level cards (1-16) will become less expensive to make it easier to grind for players without maxed level cards.
