Why the Ending is better than most Romcom Mangas I've ever heard of.
Hey, spoilers ahead for those who are anime-only anyway. Let's start with why I believe in this so much that I would be able to say that the ending was actually better than most manga endings.
There's a clear contrast between the first and last chapters. Why is that? Visual appearances. We start with some slightly questionable.. ecchi/lewd stuff? You know, how do I defend the author for this? (Edit: I change my action, it ain't that bad. You just can't really say how it's defendable to a ton of keyboard warriors that barely watched/read it.)
However.. It went from "oh, a series with lewd fan service, how cliche" to basically something you are invested in. The overall development of characters and world-building within this manga was exhilarating, unlike other popular anime in its genre, where they can't take a break because the author is so obsessed with the female cast.
They also lengthened the ending for a few more chapters after the confession, giving us the feeling that it wasn/t rushed. But methodical, timely, and the author was patient with her work. She gave the ending that was expected, sure, but in exchange? We get something that actually sticks for a longer time. That's why the anime was so popular, it was controversial within the first few episodes, but the author basically strayed from the fanservice from the first season, and then switched it up for us to relate with the characters frequently. Speaking of which;
The manga supported the ending from the start. Every character, storyline, or point of view made by the author helped to make the ending something good. Seriously, it was made sure to be in the perfect amount for you to make it feel real. The art style of the mangaka was so skilled in her work, giving comforting scenes and ethereal ones.
Finally, the relief. The relief you get that they confessed and had a child together. There's no hidden reason, no 'it should've been this, not her', and yes, there will always be disputes on a manga ending, whether or not it was good. It's normal for a fandom to think of such. But for the first time, I feel satisfied with reading this manga. There isn't that much better than seeing the main cast have a wedding and kid.
It really wasn't about pacing (which was mediocre but still sold me). The characters, or the manga itself. It was just a symbol for you to see the world in a different perspective after reading it. It was continuously shown, and with that meaning? The ending sticks out better than anything else. FarONE OUT!!!
