When to stop buying new knives?

I decided to put on pause buying new knives in the end of last year. In January 2026 I decided to buy not more than 1 knife per month. And now I've realized, that since the beginning of 2026 my collection has grown for around 10-15 new knives (but not all were purchased, some knives I've got as a reward for activity in media). Could anybody share your experience how you managed to limit your wishes?

NKD - Kansept Mini Hellx (D2 blade and G10 handle)

Overall impression is quite positive. Despite the "mini" in the name it is full size urban EDC knife with comfortable 4-fingers grip (middle size hand), big and sharp from the box blade (83mm D2) and nice look. Mechanics is great, flipper works fine, ceramic ball bearings secure smooth action.

The clip is not reversible, but I'm right-handed, so no problem for me.

The only bad news for me in received knife are some rust points (on new knife) on the blade :( It might be not enough conservation oil from producer combined with not proper storage of seller, and it caused not pleasant effect on semi corrosion resistant D2 blade.

Unfortunately, it was only one such knife in stock, so I have only 2 options - to return the knife and get money back (the price was around 45USD) or keep the knife with some rust points on the blade that cannot be removed by just wiping with a cloth. And I'm still considering, what to choose.

In gallery you can see the knife itself and in comparison to some other knives: Spyderco Tenacious, Opinel nr.8 and Victorinox Climber:

What handle materials do you prefer on a folding EDC knife in a budget around 40-70 USD and why? To choose from:

A: Aluminium (like on Tenable Goblin L)

B: Micarta (like on Tenable Rei)

C: G10 (like on Tenable Kratos)

D: Carbon fiber (like on Tenable Fenrir)

E: your alternative choice? (tell what alternative material do you choose)
