My mum had a fall
I dont know how I'll ever fully recover from watching my mum get up from the couch, lose her balance from light headedness, fall with such force to the ground and hit her head. It was awful. She was in a hurry to open the door for me when I arrived back home that she got up in a haste and her blood pressure dropped so fast I think she blacked out for a split second and crashed to the ground. My cleaner was in the house and we both rushed to her. There was blood. I felt so helpless cause I didnt have a first aid kit. So much panic from me and my cleaner, my mum was surprisingly calm. Anyway thankfully it was just a small deep cut on right eyebrow. Took a few stitches to mend. But she is fine. Her blood thinners (from her stroke) made the scene so much more gory. The blessing of this disease is she doesn't remember much of it. But unfortunately this will stay with me forever. I need to figure out her light headedness and general imbalance. I've been finding her a little unstable these days when she walks as well. This is her first fall though and so so terrible. No broken bones though thankfully. I'm so tired and I feel all kinds of shitty and traumatised.....Any advise on how to prevent future falls?
