So close to a birthday note
I find serials that are interesting and close to value, but never really all the way there. Maybe I could convince someone the second Pic is a lucky gambling dollar for someone's 18th birthday 🎰 lol

Im confused as to why people like to share screen shots of their TSP as a flex here. Is this supposed to motivate people to invest more?
I guess my confusion is due to the fact that the TSP only plays a portion of people's retirement and within that portion there is roth and traditional. The information people are sharing seems misleading, example: you have $2mil saved in your TSP that is all traditional, with have a mountain of debt and no paid of house and will get to worry about RMD in a few years. Not really much of a plan right? Meanwhile someone has only $1mil but is in roth, has no debt, a paid off house, a roth IRA and takes advantage of the rule of 55 and retires early with no fear of RMD.
The TSP is such a small part if the retirement plan and people dump way too much into it in my opinion. Why not just contribute enough for the match, max out a roth IRA (if eligible) and get over trying to have the biggest TSP number?
I think there are people here that think they are doing better than they really are.
Im 33 with a paid off house, a 401k with about 200k in it (half roth and half traditional) a roth IRA, disability from the Navy, and 529 plans for both my kids. If I would have only just showed the 200k I feel that says nothing about my retirement plan.
Do people think I am wrong to think this? Do people not care about RMD? Do people here even know what RMD is? Lol
