I feel like tempest is punish but well done. Now don't misunderstand me, punish is a good song as any other song of Ethel. But I feel like in punish, Ethel never gets to make things explode like in other songs. and just by itself tempests is one of the best songs of ethel, the sound,the poetry, the time, it's all just so good.

personally my favourite parts rn are "please,just go easy on me, I'm young and naive" "I'll hurt myself if I want" "did you come to see me whiter? am I the things you think about late at night?" " you can hold me,stop me, do all the things that you do"

it's a haunting song and I love how even in the soft parts of the songs there's a force, it sounds like a devastation.
