Brand New Griddle - Oxidation and dents out of the box

I purchased from a local Lowes yesterday. Out of the box there's some rust/oxidation which I am less concerned about than the damage to the hood of the grill.

I do not want to go through the hassle of a return/ replacement with Lowes if this is not a big deal however my concern is that this falls right along the seam of the hood. I worry about it being a weak point for rust or further damage over time

Any advice on how I should proceed? This is now the 2nd grill I've received that's damaged and frankly I am just out of patience and just want to get to using it, but also don't want to regret it.
