Griddle seasoning flaking/cracking advice

Hey Blackstone community! I got my griddle last year, and have been very happy with. Recently took my Blackstone out of storage for the summer season, and the seasoning seems to be cracking or flaking in some spots. How would you go about this? Do I need to re-season? Sand it down? Other options? Any advice is very much appreciated!

Have a fuc*ed up or rusty surface?

YOU DON’T NEED POWER TOOLS. And those neglected side or the road finds or “my brother in law gave me his Blackstone he stopped using 2 years ago” and are covered in rust don’t need an angle grinder or sand blaster. Just get the Blackstone restoration kit and a jar of their griddle seasoning. It’ll take about an hour of your time, most of which is just waiting.

No, I don’t get any money from you clicking the Walmart links and buying the stuff. Just tired of seeing so many people ask about how to save their griddle. It’s even worse than all the new seasoning questions that ask the same question by 10 people a day.

This just needs a good wash, right?

Just bought this Blackstone at Costco. Went to do my first wash/season, did my warm soap mixture, thought I got it all, looks like there's some soap residue and tiny bits of this rag that I used to wash it. I turned the heat all the way up to get it hot to apply my seasoning, and discovered this. I obviously don't want to season this with this stuff on here so will reclean it, but my question is, basically, this will all come out in the next wash, if I used a sponge or whatever, right?

I won't be able to get to this until tomorrow, am I doing long-term damage by having attempted to clean it like this, kinda failed, and then leaving it until the afternoon tomorrow? I recognize this is dumb and nooby but I just bought this and don't want it to be ruined 😭

Ty for your help

Family dinner!

My second time cooking for the family on the blackstone, and I just googled “best family meal on blackstone”. AI gave me this hibachi recipe with day old cooked rice, chicken, scrambled eggs, zucchini, mushrooms, and onions, all seasoned with soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Everything came out great, and the kids ate too, which is a major bonus!

I cooked the eggs, set them aside, chopped the veggies, seasoned them with soy sauce and s+p, and cooked them, and set them aside, chopped and cooked the chicken, set that aside, then got the rice nice and crispy before mixing everything together.

Having a few bowls and space to put them was nice to have with an outdoor table (my kitchen isn’t that big), and this is quickly becoming my favorite way to cook for the family. I’ll have to try this recipe again with steak in a couple weeks for some friends!

What are your favorite family meals to cook?

Blackstone Camping Griddle Without Nonstick?

Hello!

New to the Blackstone world and wanting to get one for camping. Don’t love how little info the actual Blackstone website gives. It appears there are 2 types of griddle plates, an “omnivore” plate, which I assume is the rolled steel or whatever they call it, and the ceramic titanium coated plate.

I know the ceramic titanium is just a fancy word for non stick. Which appears to be the only option for the 20” camping griddle. Which, blows my mind, why would anyone want nonstick in a camping griddle?

Anyway, does anybody know if there is a version of the camping griddle with the regular griddle? I’m talking about the 20” camping griddle which is more compact than the others. Or is there a way to change the griddle to the normal one? Not trying to deal with wood/ plastic utensils and the unsafe nature of nonstick.

Chicken Philly cheese steak

Basic Chicken Philly cheese steak sandwiches. Forgot to take a picture on the griddle, but here they are after I pulled them off and assembled with a side salad.

Grilling Salmon with Skin

Hi, new to grilling. Got me a Blackstone Griddle a few weeks ago and so far have had a blast learning to cook on that thing. Does anyone have any tips on how to grill salmon with the skin on?

<80° & recent T-storm=⏰ 2 SMASH

First smeshboigas since Feb or March & they ripped. They are paired with homemade fries. Only thing id change is make my own smash sauce & maybe have the patties a lil thicker & bigger

Also for those curious, no blue star on my Sarsaparilla ☹️

Smash burgers on the stone

Ok so I attempted smash burgers but they turned out more like mildly squished burgers but still delicious 😋 I guess a press will be my next accessory!

Just got a blackstone.

Just got a blackstone and think of what to cook as the first official meal on it after I season it. What should it be? Any input welcomed.
