Blackstone Rehab

This one was in rough shape. Got it off a guy on Marketplace for $40 and the majority of the time was spent on the base and shelves. The guy didn’t take the stickers off the side shelves and left it out in the rain so the base had a good amount of rust to sand, neutralize, and paint. The top itself was the “easy” part but now it’s ready to cook!

Burner Swap?

So I have a Model 1863 but just bought and refinished a 2177 with the omnivore griddle top. I’ve heard mixed reviews based on the lower BTU of the 2177 but I like the idea of the built in wind screens so I was considering swapping the entire burner system from my old one (with 60k BTUs) into the 2177 with the upgraded top. Is this the best of both worlds or could this cause problems? Am I missing something?

I’m donating the other one to my church for the couple times a year they’d use it for events so I’m not too concerned about reduced performance if they got the 1863 with the 2177’s burners (and the magnetic wind guards). Appreciate any thoughts.

Another refinishing job for a friend…this thing was CAKED.

Luckily with all the nastiness, there was no real chance for rust. Got it looking glassy for him…not bad for an $80 marketplace find
