KTM adv 390 (2026) sahara touring seat

So I finally ordered the touring seat fron Sahara seat. It took like 10 to 12 days to arrive as it is a custom made.

I got this one --> https://saharaseats.com/ktm-390-adventure-comfort-seat-sahara-nomad-adv/

Costed me around 7.5k with additional 6 mm gel cushion.

First impression:-

Appearances :- The seat doesn't look bulky at all (there is another touring seat which is definitely bulky) the rear portion is decent in size and doesn't spoil the look of the bike.

Comfort and Ergonomics:-

  1. The gel seat has definitely added comfort and the saddle provides great support to the tail bone region too.

  2. It didn't hinder my riding position (I am using 25 mm risers), can feel a little rise of 1 to 1.5 cms maybe. My feet was flat on the ground even after using this seat. (I am 179 cms tall)

  3. Good grip and I wasn't slipping while hitting brakes at high speeds.

Pricing :- Yes it is expensive for this price range, but the overall fit and finish is good and can sustain rains.

Installation:- Its plug and play, it has 2 slots on the rider side and one pin like stock to fit in the hole in rear portion. The front 2 slots have to be carefully fit first and then do rear pin alignment to have a proper locking position.

I have attached more pics and will definitely do a ride with pillion in comig weeks to share the feedback.

The reason I didn't go for a KTM touring seat as it didn't suit the pillion well ! (We tried this on a friends bike)

My next installation pending is auxiliary lights, ordered Zana ZFL 40. Will drop a review soon.

I recently purchased Adv 390 (S variant) and did my first trip to Bangalore from Mumbai clocking 1001 kms. Got an amazing mileage with an average speed of 61 km/hr.

Did my 1st service in Marathali in Bangalore, it costed me around 2.8k INR.

Trip time :- 16 hrs approx.

Fuel used :- XP 95 and Shell V Power.

Customisation done:-

  1. Handle bar risers from Legundary customs.

  2. Top rack plate from Legendary customs.

  3. Viaterra 55 L bag and dirtsack erupt rackless bags 24 liters each.

Good experiences:-

  1. Cruise control used approximately for 350 kms and bike has an amazing stability with luggage. Cruised at almost 100 kmph with no hands on handlebar and still bike was stable.

  2. Got an amazing mileage of 31 km/l

  3. No overheating issues.

  4. Quickshifter is really helpful.

  5. Windscreen is tall and helps wind deflect efficiently.

  6. Stock handlebar grips are good in terms of quality and grip.

Things I had to adjust with:-

  1. Vibration at mid RPM like 4 to 5K RPM on all gears. I didn't feel vibrations after hitting 85+ kmph on 5th abd 6th gear. Bike was super smooth.

  2. Stock seat isn't touring friendly (I have order new one from Sahara seats)

  3. Stock light throw especially upper is useless at night, you will need auxiliary setup for sure (I have ordered ZANA ZFL 40)
