How much time will it take from Pune to Varanasi by bike, it's close to 1500 kms, and what route to follow?

I am planning for a Pune to Varanasi trip, any suggestions and advice is welcome, I am an experienced rider, but not in terms of long trips.

Pdi check?

I went for the PDI of my bike and noticed a couple of scratches. I’d like to understand how I should approach this with the showroom and what all the important things I should thoroughly check during the second PDI.
I don’t want to miss anything or regret it later, so please let me know the key things I should inspect and verify before accepting the bike.

Do let me know what to do!

Circled in white are the scratches

KTM 390 adventure r vs 690/701

Hi, I’m based in the UK. I’m not an overly experienced off road rider, but I’m capable. I’m predominantly a road rider, who rides GS1250 and a pretty experienced rider.

After some advice on which bike to go for. Looking for a bike that’s able to do a hour or so on the highway/motorway @ 60-70mph comfortably without killing the engine in doing so, but then able to turn off and do some trails/green lanes (uk) and handle them well. I’m gna potentially throw some gear like tents etc and make an adventure of it. I’ve got a budget of about £7000. So a brand new 690/701 is out of the question unfortunately.

Are they reliable or am I best looking at the Chinese market like CFmoto etc

Any advice or help would be great. Cheers

Neutral gear and starting in gear problem

I went for some nice offroading and after dropping my bike (with me on it) the bike doesnt start in gear anymore. Also, it is after the drop very hard to find neutral. Anybody had this before and knows what it could be before I bring it to bike hospital?

Small upgrade, big difference. 🏍️ Grip Puppy

Installed Grip Puppy on my KTM 390 ADV and the difference in comfort is honestly noticeable. The thicker, softer grip has taken away the finger tingling I used to get on longer rides.

More cushioning, better comfort, less vibration — definitely one of those simple upgrades that makes riding more enjoyable.

KTM 350 Adventure Pune on-road quote — where can I save?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to buy a KTM Adventure 350 in Pune and received the following quotation from the dealer.

The quoted breakup is:

Ex-showroom / Basic: ₹2,86,858

RTO: ₹35,681

Logistics: ₹1,000

Accessories: ₹1,337

1 Yr. Comprehensive + 5 Yr. TP: ₹14,987

On-road with comprehensive: ₹3,39,863

0 Dep Insurance: ₹17,559

On-road with 0 Dep: ₹3,42,435

Additional 5 Years Warranty: ₹2,599

Labour-free AMC: ₹2,360

Final total including all of the above: ₹3,47,394

I’m also buying it through Amazon, which is already saving me around ₹15,000 on the ex-showroom price.

My questions for KTM owners / people who recently bought a bike:

Can I skip the dealer's ₹17,559 0-dep insurance and buy it myself from another insurer?

Is ₹14,987 for 1-year comprehensive + 5-year third-party reasonable for the Adventure 350?

Are the ₹2,599 additional 5-year warranty and ₹2,360 labour-free AMC worth taking, or can I skip them?

Is the ₹1,337 accessories charge optional?

Is there anything else in this quotation that I can negotiate or remove?

What was your final on-road price for the Adventure 350 in Pune?

I’m trying to get the best possible deal without compromising on necessary insurance/coverage.

Would appreciate advice from anyone who recently purchased the KTM 350 Adventure.

Coolant below MIN mark after just 600+ km — is this normal?

I noticed that the coolant level on my KTM 390 ADV 2026 had dropped below the MIN mark, which seemed unusual to me considering the bike has only done a little over 600 km.

I took it to the service station, and they topped up the coolant. When I asked about it, they said that it’s usual for the coolant level to go down and that it may need topping up.

I was honestly surprised, especially with such low mileage.

For those who own the same/similar bike:

Is it normal for the coolant level to drop this early?

How frequently do you find yourself topping it up?

Could this just be the initial air bleeding/settling of the cooling system?

Or should I be concerned about a possible leak?

Would appreciate some insights from experienced owners. I’ll definitely keep an eye on the level over the next few hundred kilometres.

Radiator fan failed and damaged radiator fins —warranty or not?

I have a KTM Adventure 390. Recently, the radiator fan became faulty and in the process, the fan also damaged the radiator fins.
My service centre is saying that it will not be covered under warranty because the radiator fins are damaged. They are asking me to buy a new radiator, but apparently the required parts are currently not available.
They are also saying that if I send it for a warranty claim, it could take around 6 months, and even then there is no guarantee that it will be covered because the radiator fins are damaged.
I’m confused about this because the fins were damaged by the failed/faulty radiator fan itself, and there was no accident or external impact.
Has anyone faced a similar issue with KTM?
Should the fan failure and the resulting radiator damage be covered under warranty? What would be the best way to escalate this with KTM?
Any advice or similar experiences would be really helpful.

KTM 390 Adventure -crank failure at ~600 kms - looking for others experience with replacement vs repair from KTM India

Bought a KTM 390 (350) Adventure recently. At around 600 kms in (well before the first scheduled service at 1000 kms), I noticed a loss of power one evening, and later that night the engine cut off completely while riding in traffic and left me stranded on the highway.

Took it to a service center in Kerala. They initially couldn't diagnose it properly (job card just said "general service"). A few days later they told me it's a crank issue, and they've ordered a new crankshaft, associated components, and a piston set. Parts were expected earlier this week, repair targeted for completion by end of this week.

I've asked the service center for a written diagnostic report and parts list still haven't received anything on paper. I've also emailed KTM India directly, and separately looped in the Area Service Manager, the dealer, and the service center on one thread, asking for a replacement (motorcycle or at least the full engine) rather than a repair, given this is a brand-new bike with a major internal engine fault before the first service. So far, no written response addressing the replacement request.

Wanted to check with this community:

Has anyone else run into a crank failure this early on the 390 (350) Adventure (or 390 Duke / similar LC4C platform)? Trying to figure out if this is a known/recurring issue or a one-off.

Has anyone successfully gotten KTM India to replace the engine or the full motorcycle instead of doing an in-warranty repair? What worked?

Any advice on dealing with KTM India's customer service/escalation process specifically and realistic timelines, whether the consumer helpline (1915) actually moves things faster, whether Grievance Officer letters get responses, etc.

Anyone gone the consumer court route for something similar? Worth it, or does it drag on too long to be practical?

Not looking to turn this into a rant post (yet) just trying to gather real experiences before I decide how hard to push this. Will update once I know more.

Thanks in advance.

Windshield... delete?

Has anyone experimented with reducing the windshield buffeting of the Gen1 Advs by not installing a larger windshield but simply removing it entirely? To my surprise, the cleaner airflow I get felt way more silent than anything I've gotten with the stock windshield. I don't know if there's any other downside to riding without one except it looking perhaps a bit silly on the bike.
