Finally booked KTM 390 ADV(350cc) from Amazon

Got a total of 27K discount which includes cashback from Amazon.

I am yet to pay rest of the amount which I will do it today.

I need suggestion that if the split up looks good and what else I can focus on.

What could be the issue

I face issue with quick shifter slipping sometimes and then gear not getting put proper and getting displayed on TFT, anyone knows what the issue could be

When I go from second to first the gear does not get shifted properly, there was an issue earlier where the clutch cable was lose and then after adjusting it this issue of gear not shifting properly at low speeds and indicating on TFT still persists

Indicator Quality Issues on Adv 390 X

Look at this damage and it’s been just exactly a year I purchased my ride with 10k km on ODO and these gave up already with fogging up and cracks. I owned Bajaj nS200 for 9years with no such issues. Why so fragile for such a premium motorbike.

Source of buy aftermarket short windshield for KTM 390 ADVENTURE R?

I've riding KTM 390 Adventure R over last 2 months mainly on trails/ off-roads as well as roads but not for touring. With tall windshield, quite relevant for tourers speeding beyond 70-80kmph, it feels hot and sweaty as it blocks significant amount of air at low speeds. Further, it also blocks the clear visibility near to front tyre at off-road sections.

After doing some search, I could find one (in the photo) from puigusa.com but sadly it is not available to buy in India.

Thermostat failure, less than 500km driven

Highly disappointed today with KTM, i got my adv 390 ebony black around 10 days back and less than 500km driven.

Today morning i had a ln issue where i kept geeting message on the display saying high coolant temperature and engine temperature hot.

The bike kept on switching off itself and rom was also limitted.

Its really concerning that service centers are not ready to accommodate and saying we are busy it will kae many days, go to different showroom.

Had to speak a bit boldly to finally get the staff to check the bike, apparently the thermostat needs ro be replaced and it will take 4 to 5 days as no stock.

Dint expect this from ktm.

NEXT BIKE? (from 2021 390 advenure)

So I've been riding my ktm 390 adventure for 2 years, I loved it for what it was - comfortable on the road, decent on highway and OK off-road. But recently noticed that I don't ride that much on highway.

I am much more happy offroad, but city commuting is still a big part of my riding, also occasional highway is still there, but I much rather take a longer ride of "b roads" where 90km/h is a limit. I feel like I don't need much more power, although little more power would be nice... I am thinking more about weight, even that I am an average height (183cm), I have short legs and 390 adv with rally seat, I tip toe the bike and it's a bit uncomfortable off road. Also it's wide and big bike (compared to what it is), I am leaning towards 390 enduro R, but don't think it will much of a change..

I like abs, traction control and all those modern features, but I don't know if I would miss them, tbh. Maybe someone could share their experiences transitioning from the same bike or have any suggestions? Thanks!

RTX 300 vs KTM 390 (349)Adventure — need honest long-term ownership advice

Hey everyone, I’m 20 and a college student, and I’m currently stuck between keeping my TVS Apache RTX 300 booking or switching to the KTM 390 Adventure 349cc.

I booked the RTX on September 2 as my first bike. I really love the design, adventure styling and features. I’m genuinely into adventure bikes, I occasionally do some off-roading(not hardcore) this Indian road are like mostly off road trails, and in the future I want to do proper long distance rides.

The waiting period isn’t really a problem for me. When I booked it, the website said this batch would start deliveries from February 15, so roughly 6 months of waiting. My dealer also said it could potentially go up to 8 months, and honestly I’m okay with waiting.

What has made me reconsider is long-term ownership and spare-part costs.
I’ve been seeing people mention some very expensive RTX parts. For example, I’ve seen prices quoted around:
Headlight: ~₹52,000
Front brake pads: ~₹5,500
Rear brake pads: ~₹1,800
Labour extra

I’m considering the 349cc KTM 390 Adventure because I’ve previously ridden my brother’s Gen-3 Duke 390 and absolutely loved the bike. I also like the KTM Adventure’s design, TFT, electronics, ground clearance and overall character. I’m around 5’8”, so I’m also wondering how manageable the bike is at my height.

I’ve already spent quite a bit of time researching YouTube and online reviews. What I really want is feedback from people who actually own these bikes and have paid for their servicing and parts.

For KTM 390 Adventure 349cc owners:
•How much are your regular services actually costing?

•How expensive are the common spare parts?

•Any major reliability/QC/electrical issues?

•How is the build quality after 1+ year?

•How is KTM parts availability?

•What are brake pad/chain-sprocket/clutch costs like?

•What’s your real-world mileage?

•How does it handle long rides and off-roading?

•tWould you recommend it to a 20-year-old college student?

I have several months before my RTX delivery, so I have time to make the decision. If you were in my position, would you keep the RTX booking or switch to the KTM 390 Adventure 349cc?
Please be brutally honest. I’m not looking for a fanboy KTM vs TVS argument I just want to make the right decision for my first bike.

Thinking of getting a 390 Adventure

I am an experienced middle aged rider. I have had numerous dirt and street bikes in my life. I am thinking of getting a small bike that I can throw into the back of my truck and probably keep at a house in a different state. I also have a Harley V-Rod as my main ride.

I have found a 2021 390 Adventure with less than 4k miles at a dealer near me. It is $3,000.

I am concerned about the unreliable reputation of KTMs. I imagine this bike is easy to work on, though.

Would you folks that are experienced with the 390s please give me some insight on the 2021 models. If you were me would you buy this bike if it is good condition? Is there anything special I would need to watch out for?

Battery weak in my adv 390 x

My one year old ktm adv has battery discharge issues despite using it daily. I charged twice still it occurs, will ktm replace battery in warranty?

When should I stop refueling?

Manual says "up to the lower edge" whatever it means.

Probably the lintel in the tank below the cap.

I do as the fuel level on the second picture usually.

Bike is standing vertically when a picture was taken.

Is it safe to fill up to the arrow mark on the second picture ?

I refuel when the warning says `< 80km`.

And it takes from 10 to 11 liters usually.

The manual says that the fuel tank is 14L but I was never able to put more than 12l.

Anyone here who has changed their back panel in KTM ADV S?

Hey guys was thinking of buying the ADV S but dont like its colour scheme and was thinking of switching its back panel to that of ADV R.

Refer to the 3rd pic i generated using chat gpt about how will it look.

The other option i was thinking was to get the ADV X black panels. What do you guys think would be better?

Other thing i wanted to ask;

  1. Does any one knows here if KTM has any plans to bring ADV R in tubed tires, as I really would like to buy the bike but tubed tires are pain in the ass in case kf puncture bcoz of my experience. ( My cousin has yezdi adventure and i has the bike for few weeks and had a puncture and it was a nightmare push and took it to a puncture shop.

  2. Will there be any offers in Diwali from KTM?
