[OOTD] Put together a 7-outfit summer capsule

Been gathering a few lightweight pieces for the hot summer days. Decided to lay them all out and see what combos work.

Kept it super minimal: knit polos, linen shirts, and relaxed trousers. Here’s the vibe:

  • Light tones: Cream knit polo, white linen/cotton trousers, sand suede loafers + a silk scarf for a bit of character.
  • Dark tones: Brown zip-knit polo, black pleated trousers, and black leather loafers.
  • Beachy vibes: White linen button-down over a tank, hat, and suede sandals.
  • Casual: Grey striped long-sleeve, dark grey trousers, sandals, and a paisley bandana.

Most fabrics are breathable cotton-linen blends. It's comfy, easy to style, and doesn't look like I'm trying too hard. Which look would you wear to a summer brunch?

Grey & Black summer setup

Been wearing lightweight vests a lot lately, so I picked up this one to try out. It's pretty simple but adds some layers without making the outfit feel too heavy.

[QC/Haul] Summer Quiet Luxury Capsule — Linen, Silk-Cotton Knits & Suede Loafers 🤍☁️

Hey guys, just put together a quick summer capsule focused on subtle luxury and high-end fabrics. Moved away from loud logos and went strictly for materials and cuts this time.

Piece breakdown:

  • Band Collar Linen Shirt: Super breathable, natural texture. The drape on this in natural sunlight is insane.
  • Silk-Cotton Knit Crewneck & Polo: Extremely soft hand-feel. Fine ribbed trim details with clean, understated crest embroidery.
  • Off-White Tapered Denim: Clean, structured fit without feeling stiff.
  • Suede Striped Loafers / Mules: Minimalist design, buttery soft suede, perfect for summer nights.
  • Accessories: Cotton dad caps & vintage oval shades to round out the fit.

How are we feeling about these clean, unbranded-vibe pieces?

Linen shorts & textured knit polos are elite for summer. Pick your 1 to 5!

Copped a few knit polos (striped, waffle, pointelle, quarter-zip) to pair with black and white linen shorts for easy summer styling.

Which color combination hit best for you guys?

Fall haul finally showed up

Everything from this order finally showed up, so I had to throw it on together.

The denim jacket was the piece I was looking forward to the most, but the shearling sneakers honestly stole the show. They're definitely louder than what I usually wear, but somehow they work.

Kept the rest simple with a black tee, light wash jeans, and a woven crossbody bag to balance everything out.

Overall, I like how the different textures do most of the work without needing a lot of colors.

Pretty happy with how this haul turned out.

Which piece would you keep?

My wardrobe said "enough." I didn't listen.

"Alright, that's enough. I seriously don't need anything else."

Then 24 hours later...

"Wait... this one would actually go with everything I already bought."

Somehow my shopping addiction has evolved into buying clothes to justify the clothes I bought last week.

My wallet has officially stopped arguing with me. It just accepts its fate now. 💀

[HAUL] Guess I'm officially in my knitwear phase.

Didn't plan on buying this many knit pieces, but here we are.

I've been trying to move away from graphic tees for a bit, so this haul ended up being mostly polos, lightweight knits, and shirts that are easy to dress up without feeling too formal.

A few favorites so far:

  • Grey argyle knit polo. Probably my favorite from the bunch. It has that vintage look without feeling too old-school.
  • Dark grey knit vest layered over a light blue shirt. I wasn't sure if I'd actually wear it, but the layered look grew on me pretty quickly.
  • Light grey V-neck knit with a white shirt underneath. Super simple, but it looks a little more put together than just throwing on a tee.
  • White striped short-sleeve shirt. Nice texture, lightweight, and probably the one I'll wear the most while it's still warm.
  • Grey layered polo. Easy piece to wear with wide-leg trousers or jeans, depending on the day.

Overall, I think I've been leaning more toward cleaner outfits lately instead of loud graphics. Nothing here is super flashy, but that's kind of what I like about it.

[QC] Black & gold glasses for $0.73 — worth keeping?

Just got the warehouse photos for these black & gold glasses. From what I can see, the overall shape looks fairly even, and the metal details on the temples don't appear noticeably misaligned. The frame edges also look reasonably clean in the photos.

I'm mainly looking for a second opinion before deciding whether to keep them. Do you notice any obvious flaws, alignment issues, or anything else that stands out from the QC pics?

What UI design tools do you use to get your app looks like a real thing?

I lift 3-5 times a week and I used to keep my workout plans on notes app. But I hate updating every day. So I vibe coded a fitness planner. It lets me set my weekly plan, log workouts by body part, and see my lifts on a trend chart. Not fancy, but I actually use it.

Next step I am going to make a mobile version and polish the UI design. Now it looks like an early AI-generated prototype. What UI design tools do you use to get your app looks like a real thing?

Made book characters chat with my son after each chapter. It's actually getting him to read. I may need some help in finding digital books.

My son is just starting elementary school and has trouble reading books. He likes phones and games more than paper.

I had this idea. What if he could actually talk to the book characters? Finish a chapter of Harry Potter and Harry himself messages him asking what just happened. Not a quiz. More like a friend who read the same chapter and wants to chat. It should be fun and make the reading part more interesting.

I use one of those AI app builders to have my app built over a weekend. And it's working. He's reading again and now likes chatting with Harry. He can also read more and unlock other characters. I design this as an incentive.

Here's what I'm stuck on. He reads physical books. To make the character know what's in chapter 4, I have to manually feed in character names, personality, and what happens per chapter. Right now I'm thinking about some online database of books and copy pasting them in. It works for famous books but doesn't solve the problem.

Is there a better way to handle the physical book part or am I just gonna be copy pasting book summaries manually?

Tried this pair of old money style trainers lately — some thoughts

I didn’t really go in expecting much, just wanted a clean, everyday pair of trainers that could work with most outfits. After wearing them for a while, they’ve ended up in my regular rotation more than I thought.

First impression is the overall build feels pretty solid and well balanced. Nothing flashy, just a simple retro silhouette that fits into that quiet, understated style.

The upper feels soft to the touch and doesn’t have that stiff “new shoe” feel. It breaks in quite easily, and after a few wears it starts to sit more naturally on foot. The inside lining is also smooth, so comfort-wise it’s been fine even for longer walks.

The insole has a bit of structure and rebound, so it’s not just flat cushioning. There’s enough support for daily use like commuting or being on your feet for a few hours. The outsole is light and stable, with decent grip for everyday surfaces.

Visually, it’s very minimal clean lines, low profile, no unnecessary details. That’s probably what makes it easy to match. I’ve worn it with denim, relaxed trousers, and even more tailored fits, and it doesn’t really look out of place in any of them.

Overall, just a simple pair that does its job well. Nothing loud or attention-seeking, but easy to wear and easy to style, which is usually what ends up getting the most use.
