Fireworks

Is anyone iggy not scared of fireworks? My puppy and I were hanging outside last night and big bomb like fireworks were going off and he didn’t even flinch. He’s not scared of thunder either. This is his first Fourth of July so we will see tonight how he reacts to the constant sound but I think he won’t care tbh. My boxer on the other hand is terrified but he shakes when it rains so lol

UPDATE: he did not care about the fireworks and actually slept through them.

Guilty

Hey yall! I have an almost 7 month Italian greyhound. He’s almost fully potty trained and he’s crate trained. He only goes in there if he can’t settle on his own and I can tell he’s struggling and when I leave the house. I live with my parents so he mostly has someone with him. My mom is currently on vacation visiting my sister and my dad works long hours. I work for five hours four days a week so I’m home a good amount of time. The hours could are 7-12 or 12-5 so it’s not bad especially in the morning cause my puppy will not wake up before 10am so with morning shifts I don’t feel as guilty putting him in his crate before I leave. But the 12-5 really gets me. Sometimes my dad is home by 1 or 2 but other times he’s not home until after 5. My puppy does good in the crate but after like 4 hours you can tell he’s over it on my camera. I don’t trust anyone to come into my house to take him out or watch him and my friends that I do trust work during those hours. Before I go to work I do play with him and try to get his energy out but he does NOT like walks so I can’t use that as an outlet. I know him waiting five hours at most in a crate is way better than him being in one for 24 hours in a shelter. I do have a job to where I can take him but he HATES it. I work at a doggie daycare but he’s not fixed yet so he hangs out up front with the receptionists and sometimes other dogs. He doesn’t like the sounds of barking and he doesn’t like the smells of other dogs so I feel like him being stressed out is torture and I feel like he would rather be home. Sorry this is all over the place I just feel bad for my little guy. I think I have more separation anxiety than he does 😂

Harness

Hello everyone! I’m looking for a really good harness that won’t break the bank. I have a normal harness for my 6 month old and I know Italian greyhound have special ones but I wanted to wait until he’s fully grown to get his special ones. I think he’s mostly done growing and if he grows more then it would be okay and I’ll just loosen it. But I need one that won’t make him choke when he pulls! Any recommendations would help thank you! Also I live in the US so a place that ships here!

Coughing

Hey yall! I have a 6 month Italian greyhound and he’s a wild child lol. I have a six year old boxer and they play with each other all the time. I never let it get too far or rough but my puppy seems to cough a lot while playing.
Like a hacking cough, he doesn’t cough when he’s not playing and I know even the lightest touch on his throat cause make him cough with how long his neck is but I was just wondering if others are doing this too? He’s not sick and has had a check up and my sister is a vet too so I have asked her and he’s perfectly healthy. Is he just hitting his throat while playing or should I look deeper into this. Thank you!!

Ps: I know when dogs sneeze while playing mean that are just playing and he does do the sneezes too as well as the boxer.
