Looking for advice/wisdom
I’m looking at purchasing a golf course in the northeast area. It’s currently owned remotely, and I’d be a remote owner as well. Financials look okay, but I’d like to take it from a pretty good muni course to something better. And you guys and gals would be the ones with the knowledge on how to get it there.
Questions:
Is the price of fertilizer going haywire? Or not in this space yet?
How concerned would you be with a very old irrigation system, but it’s held up great with consistent minor repairs over the years?
What are our thoughts on robo-mowers; not to replace humans, but to allow them to spend less time in one area so they can dive in more deeply on making sure the greens and tee boxes are mint.
What tool (or tools) do owners think are “too expensive” but would change your world?
If you could wave a magic wand, what things would you address first?
I come from a different profession altogether, and my success was built on, “how do I let my most talented people spend more of the time on what makes them exceptional, rather than the more mundane things (or things they hate)?” If you can find ways to get people doing more of what they love and pay them more as a result, success seems to follow for everybody, imo.
