Random confession (Has anyone been through something like this?)

My friend (let's call her "Apple") I met in my first year of highschool has left me. (temporary) We we're friends for years, and in my 4th year, i did something that turned the friendship upside down. I was at her place just chilling, messing around. And out of happiness i gave her a kiss on the cheek. just playfully, no feelings behind it.
We wanted to keep it a secret, so no one could bully us for it. But my stupid ass answered questions from Apple's friend (He twisted my words). A week later, everyone gossiped about me and her that we kissed with tongue and shit. The shittiest part of it was.. She was all the way in Denmark, exchange student trip. She found out and angrily texted me. she had that friend with her that twisted my words and she didn't believe that i didn't expose her in this way.
The texts were agressive and threatening. She kept saying she was going to fight me when she was back. I went to a school councelor and he prevented the fight from happening by talking to her in private. I didn't know he stopped the fight, until that friday, when i went to place she wanted to fight, curious if she'd show up. Waited anxiously for half an hour before breaking contact with her completely and letting it rest.
A few months later, i saw her again in a class. We didn't talk, we just worked together when we needed to. Later i started to talk, trying to be nice. she was acting normal to me, so i kept talking to her. day after day, i slowly build up a bond again. Not as strong as before, but it's still growing stronger to this day.
It helps me a lot to just share this with people, so i can talk about it more openly.
