posted yesterday that I’d rather marry a girl from Algeria because I’m not really into Algerian girls in Canada. I got a lot of DMs saying it’s a bad idea because they only want a passport.
It honestly made me wonder. Why do so many people think like that? What’s wrong with a girl wanting to move abroad with her husband? Isn't that normal if they're getting married and starting a life together?

I'm an Algerian-Canadian (I recently got my Canadian citizenship), and I'm at the point where I'd like to settle down and get married. I only see myself marrying an Algerian, but I'm not sure whether I should look for someone here in Canada or in Algeria.
I've tried talking to girls in Algeria before, but the long-distance communication was difficult, and it never really worked out.
I'm going to Algeria next month, and I'm thinking about seriously looking for someone there—maybe even getting engaged if things go well.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Do you have any advice or experience to share? I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts.
