Trying to identifiy old german „softblack“ Pencil
Hey everyone!
I’m trying to identify an old pencil I got from my grandfather more than 20 years ago (the pencil itself is probably much older).
It’s a black wooden pencil with:
- a white ring near the end
- a gray end cap
- black lacquer finish
The remaining text on the pencil says:
“Softblack • Made in Germany • 0090 • W”
What makes it unusual (for me 😄):
- it writes extremely dark and soft
- it is very hard to erase
- it almost feels like an old copying / marking / industrial pencil
I suspect it may have been used in gastronomy or some kind of industrial setting rather than as a regular school pencil.
Unfortunately, there’s no visible brand name left.
Does anyone recognize the model, manufacturer, or type of pencil?
Thanks a lot!
