I have read the two first books in 'The housemaid' series.
I just started 'The housemaid is watching' *NO SPOILERS PLEASE!*

I can't seem to wrap my head around the timelines and age of Millie.
I can't figure out if i'm the dumb one, or it just doesn't make any sense.

In the start of book 1, she is supposed to be in her late twenties.
We know she has been in jail for 10 years before this, for something she did as a late teenager. I guess 17-19 years of age? I do not think it is mentioned in the book. She served time in a womens jail and not in a youth prison, so she cannot have been too young. (I'm not American, so forgive me if I'm wrong about how this works).

I believe book 2 takes place 2-3 years after the first one. I think it is said that she and Enzo helped women for about two years and he had at the books start been gone for 6 months.
So she would be in the start of her thirties.

In book three we have quite a time jump. 12-13 years. She mentions she got pregnant after her and Enzo have lived together for a year, and book 2 ends with them moving in together. And we know that Ada is 11 years old.
Millie mentions that Enzo is older than her and that he should be careful with heavy lifting because he is in his forties.
She also mentions that they have known each other for almost 20 years and that it had been that long since she was in Long Island.

If they have known each other for 20 years, Millie must be in her late forties, and Enzo even older?
There must also have been a bigger time jump between book 1 and 2, for this timeline to add up.

I know it really isn't relevant for the story, but i can't seem to let it go :D.
Have i missed something or should i just give it a rest?
Please also correct me if I'm remembering the timeline wrong!
