hi, this might be kind of a ramble but i’ve been thinking a lot about whether i want kids someday

right now i honestly feel really unsure. when i think about it, all the risks feel kind of overwhelming. like money, time, losing your freedom, the state of the world, etc etc.

i was talking to my parents about it and i do respect their opinions, but their reasons didn’t fully click for me. it was a lot of stuff like wanting to love someone deeply, make memories, pass things down, religious stuff, and i get that, but it also felt very emotional and i’m not sure that’s enough for me to want to bring a child into this world.

so i guess i just wanted to hear from other people

if you want kids or already have them, what made you decide that?
and if you don’t want kids, how did you come to that decision?

was it something you always knew or did it change over time?

i’m not judging either side at all, i’m just trying to figure out how people think about this and maybe understand my own feelings better
thx:)
