Everyone’s obsessed with this face cleansing gadget .. but is it any good?

I keep seeing the Palm Face Clean Pro everywhere lately and I genuinely can’t tell if it’s actually useful or if it’s just another viral skincare thing people hype up for a month..

It’s basically a small silicone face cleansing device that’s supposed to help clean deeper, especially after sunscreen or makeup.

I’ve always just used my hands, so I’m curious if stuff like this actually makes a noticeable difference or if it mostly just gives that “extra clean” feeling at first. Has anyone here actually used one long term or did it end up sitting in your bathroom drawer after a few weeks?

Did anyone notice stress affecting their hair more once they got into their 30s/40s?

I know this is more hair-related than skincare, but I feel like a lot of people here understand the whole “your body reacts differently with age” thing better than anywhere else.

The past year has been really stressful for me between work and family stuff, and lately I’ve noticed a lot more hair shedding than I used to have. Not dramatic bald spots or anything, but definitely more strands in the shower, on my brush, and around the house.

What really made me notice it was when my hairstylist mentioned my hair looked a little thinner around my part compared to my last appointment. She wasn't trying to be mean at all but it still got me.

I’m turning 39 this year, so now I’m wondering if stress just affects hair differently at this age too.

I tried a few “hair strengthening” shampoos, but honestly most of them made it worse or did nothing.

Has anyone here gone through stress-related shedding or thinning? And if so, did things eventually improve?

Anyone actually seeing results from red light therapy for acne marks and uneven skin tone?

I’ve been dealing with lingering hyperpigmentation from old breakouts, mostly on my cheeks, and it’s honestly taking forever to fade. I’ve already been consistent with the usual stuff like vitamin C, niacinamide, and sunscreen, but the improvement is super slow and kind of plateaued.

Recently I’ve been seeing more talk about red light therapy being used for skin recovery, inflammation, and post-acne marks. Some people say it helped even out skin tone and sped up healing, but I’m not sure how noticeable or consistent the results really are in real life.

Has anyone here actually tried it specifically for hyperpigmentation or acne marks? Did it make a visible difference or is it more subtle over time?

Also curious how long it took before you noticed anything, if at all.

is there a better alternative to MacWhisper for messy real-world audio (Whisper-based or local setups)

i’ve been using MacWhisper for transcription and overall it’s been solid, especially with clean audio

but i’m starting to see its limits when things get more realistic like interviews, background noise, or people talking over each other. in those cases the accuracy drops quite a bit and I end up doing a lot more cleanup than expected

it feels like Whisper works really well in controlled conditions, but less reliable when audio quality isn’t ideal

i’m curious if anyone here has moved to a different setup, maybe different Whisper models, local pipelines, or other transcription approaches that handle messy audio better

not necessarily looking for a simple app, more interested in what actually works in practice

I code for a living, close to 7 years now, and I read way too much tech news. TIME dropped their 2026 most influential AI companies list and going through it I see OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Amazon, then Zhipu AI sitting right there with them

I knew the name but I had zero idea they were at this level. I was always the guy who thought Claude, GPT, Gemini were it. The holy trinity. Chinese models? Cool experiment, not for real work. Kinda embarrassing to admit now but thats where my head was at

TIME's angle on them was "No Western chips required." They trained GLM-5, 744B params, entirely on Huawei processors. Open source under MIT. IPO'd in Hong Kong in January for $558M, 4 million enterprise users across 218 countries and regions, revenue hit $107M up 132%. Beat out Baidu and SenseTime for this spot

Their latest model GLM-5.1 is scoring neck and neck with Opus on coding benchmarks and supposedly runs inside Claude code with a config swap. If anyones tried it on actual projects id want to know if the performance holds up because these numbers combined with the TIME nod are making my old assumptions look pretty stupid

Not sure if this is the right place to post but I figured I’d ask. I’m a single mom working full-time and I have one kid and a dog, and honestly I feel like I’m constantly behind on cleaning.

Between work, স্কুল stuff, cooking, and taking care of my dog, I barely have any energy left at the end of the day. I try to stay on top of things but the fur alone is a full-time job 😅 and weekends just turn into catching up on everything I didn’t finish during the week.

My place isn’t horrible but it never really feels properly clean and it’s starting to bug me. Just wondering how other parents here manage it. Do you have a system that works or do you just accept the chaos?

I have been trying to reduce the amount of textile waste consciously by being more intentional about fabric types. I used to buy cheap polyester or cotton clothes that pilled and lost their shape after a few washes, which felt like such a waste of resources. It was mostly cause I was very careless when it comes to clothing. Its cheap, so I replace them. I'm getting myself to care more about the clothing item that I own, start by understanding what care labels actually mean. I think following the washing instructions actually helped me keep the items much longer.

With this understanding, I'm able to prioritize more on eco-friendly items, knowing that I know how to take care of them, and that they can actual last instead of spending more money on eco-friendly products, but they still wont last as long.

I've started experimenting with wood-pulp viscose pieces from a few different brands like those from OGL's Eco-SkinKiss line and have been eyeing similar offerings from Tentree and Boody. I was initially worried viscose would be too delicate for my lifestyle, but following the care instructions (cold water, mesh bag, gentle detergent, air drying) the OGL pieces have held up well for about 6 months now, and I'm curious to try the others to compare durability and feel.

I'm also working on learning basic darning to fix small holes in my older socks rather then tossing them.

Does anyone else have a favorite plant-based fabric that actually holds up over time? I'm trying to avoid anything that sheds microplastics in the wash.
