I’m a student currently looking at schools to apply to, and thinking about how I want to go about a degree. In the future, I wish to become an art teacher (mainly ceramics/sculpture) at the 6-8 or 9-12th level.

However, I have come across a bit of a hurdle. Many of the schools I’m interested in have an art education degree, but others do not. Would it be better to get a BFA/MFA in the specific art area of my choice, then complete a separate teaching certificate/degree somewhere else? Or should I look at schools that just focus on teaching but maybe minor in ceramics/sculpture? I’m just a little lost and all around puzzled by all my options, but I would love to know what would be best. Thank you :)
