These fit perfectly for length (shown by my thumb) and width. I have lots of room at the top of my forefoot resulting in lots of heel movement.

I’ve read that a leather tongue pad can help a lot. I think half a size down will be too short and cram my toes.

Will this improve with break in or given I have room (maybe 1cm space) across to bridge (top) of my foot I need to do something else?

I fitted the Schwalbe G-One R Pro 50mm to my checkpoint. It’s spec’s state 45mm max tire width. Was running Pirelli cinturato H 45mm that measured 48mm on my wheels with 25mm internal width. Minimum clearance is 5mm on the drive side chainstay and 8mm plus elsewhere with the Schwalbe that measure 50mm when fitted. Hope this helps someone looking to go wider. They are excellent tires to ride. Light and responsive with great grip in corners.
