Pillar Grove sure has a bright color scheme. The graffiti was fun to make especially trying out different graffiti styles. I also put a few dumb jokes in lol

A post on a thought I had on echoes and why they are where they are.

Echoes aren’t where they ascended, so perhaps they are in areas that embody the reason they weren’t able to ascend. For some this is quite literal, for others less so. I’ll go through each echo briefly, first the easy ones:

Chimney Canopy: Specifically says it used the spot it’s at to look over its land which it still seemingly covets

Farm Arrays: Specifically says it loves the fields and that the memory of them keeps it here

Shaded Citadel: Specifically says that it wishes to still be alive, and the memory crypts house it’s memories, therefore the closest semblance to its physical body and life

Now the harder ones:

The Exterior: Considering it tells you how great Five Pebble’s gift to you is, I theorize this echo is obsessed with the grand accomplishment of iterators, therefore staying atop one. In Saint’s campaign this echo is atop the leg, the last standing and stable element of the iterator.

Subterranean: May be tied to its pride over past civilizations which it comments as being inferior, the entrance to the tunnels down to the depths it dug past these civilizations is where it resides.

Sky Islands: I’m not too sure on this one at least it seems to have a good sense of humor

Undergrowth: This echo isn’t in the base game but appears in UG only in Saint’s campaign. This echo talks about how life is beautiful, so it shows up in the most beautiful place in the snowy tundras that best portrays beauty. The undergrowth’s transformation beckoned this echo to it

Spinning Top: “Do they note my absence? I've traveled from the furthest future to the very seed of our past, and I see no evidence.” I think this is the reason Spinning Top is everywhere versus a specific place. They aren’t tied to a specific thing but rather their search for this evidence. In existing in all these places “simultaneously“ is perhaps why spinning top seems special and perhaps this is how watcher is able to “hijack” this quirk of spinning top for the campaign to happen

For the downpour specific ones besides undergrowth I’m not sure, perhaps the metropolis echo is on the highest tower overlooking the city they claim to hate because in the end that hatred became obsession. The others idk feel free to put forward any ideas sorry for the long ramble lol
