Season Finales for unexpectedly cancelled shows that work as satisfying Series Finales too?

Edit: I was genuinely curious about shows that fit the criteria, I wasn't assuming everything ended on a cliffhanger, or a single Season isn't worth watching even if it does.

Even with time to plan, a lot of shows fail to stick the landing in the end, for one reason or another (I'm sure we could think of a recent example without too much effort).

But can you think of any shows that were cancelled or not renewed unexpectedly, that had a satisfying de facto Series finale?

The show that made me consider this topic is the show 'Forever' (2014) in which Ioan Gruffudd plays an immortal Doctor, who helps the NYPD solve crimes, while trying to solve the mystery of his own condition, and a way to end it.

In the Season/Series Finale >!Adam, the overarching antagonist of the show, (and fellow immortal) is defeated when Henry stabs Adam with a hypodermic needle, introducing an embolism, causing Adam to become Locked-In, unable to move or communicate, effectively taking him off the board. Later, Detective Martinez, Henry's partner on the police, previously unaware of Henry's immortality, goes to Henry, having discovered a very old photo of Henry, in which he looks the same. The show ends when he says he has a "long story" to tell her.!<

I personally found the Finale of 'Forever' very satisfying. While I certainly would have liked to see more episodes, this Finale really worked for me. >!The villain is dealt with in a satisfying, clever way. You don't get an answer for the why or how of his condition, but you don't need it. His partner's knowledge of his secret is addressed definitively, and it leaves the door open for more adventures without feeling unfinished or like it's leaving the audience hanging.!<

So, any other Season Finales that work well as a Series Finales, following an unexpected cancellation or lack of renewal?
