Trying to date dress with the original tags and advice on how to care for

I bought this dress at a vintage store today that still had the original tags attached and was never worn. They were only looped over the belt loop and I unlooped them just so I could take photos but they’ll be kept with the dress. My mom thinks the dress might be a 1970s dress and I think it might be 1950s. It’s meant to be longer seeing as it’s a petite for under 5’1 and I’m 5’6. It’s gorgeous and I’d appreciate any advice on how to take care of it while also wearing it. I own a few vintage pieces but nothing like this. I can give any more information that anyone would need to Id this. It doesn’t have an interior tag besides the small one.

tldr: I bought a dress and want to know where it’s from and the best way to take care of it while also wearing it occasionally
