[Online][5E 2014][5E 2024][PF2E][EST/GMT-5] Looking for a Sunday evening "humble beginning" type campaign
Who am I?
Howdy y'all, I'm Kevin 24m, hoping to put together a new group of humble adventurers and find a GM to throw challenges our way. I have a good grasp of 5e 14&24 in general, having played for 3~ years with the systems. I am also interested in PF2E, but have absolutely no experience. Currently in grad school and have another 5e group on Saturdays (the type of greed they talk about in the Bible), so I have a free slot on Sunday evenings I can commit to regularly. Been having fun playing Peak, Repo, and Yapyap with friends, so it's definitely a plus, but not a requirement if our group wants to hang outside the session.
Type of Campaign?
Looking to start at the lower levels, I like the humble beginnings fantasy type of campaign where the players aren't well established [adventurers / mercenaries / etc.] yet, taking on low-level threats and growing from there. Don't want every problem solved by bonking someone over the head; I like to use some role-playing to solve issues as well. Perfectly fine with premade modules (heard amazing things about king maker) or homebrew adventures, so hit me with the rundown of what you are thinking of running.
What am I looking for from the GM?
Is okay with saying no to a player: Sometimes, even a nat 20 isn't enough to pass a skill check, and you can let the player know it's outside of their ability to attempt an action.
Encourage players to roleplay: If a player goes, ‘I roll persuasion to get a discount at the shop’ maybe this is a chance for roleplay instead of a skill check with the classic “What exactly are you saying to them?” (Far from the best role-player myself, but I want to get better).
Remove Troublemakers: Unfortunately, some people just aren't right for a table (or most tables). I’ll do my part to call out things in and out of games, but it's good to have a GM that's proactive rather than reactive.
What am I looking for in potential Players?
Wants to interact with the world: Party member banter, treating NPCs as more than walking quest givers, and even interacting with the larger story. Don’t need to be [insert famous dnd player], just try to include yourself and don’t make people think your mic is muted half the game.
Socially well adjusted: TTRPGs are social games, so if you can’t be respectful or comprehend boundaries, this is not the table for you. The vast majority of y’all reading this have nothing to worry about here.
Scheduling: The biggest fantasy is 6 people getting together regularly to play DND together. Stuff comes up, just be proactive if you can't make a session, and don’t commit if you know attendance is going to be inconsistent.
Experience?: Fine with newer players or very experienced. I’m here to have fun, not compare years in the hobby.

GM: Shoot me a DM is probably easiest to figure out if we are a good fit.
