F it we ball. Robinhood 24k gold vs solid gold?
First, you welcome for helping your cashback staying at 3%. I decided to ball and either get the robinhood 24k gold plated card or solid gold card.
I will have enough points (100000 or 1k usd) for the gold plated version with next daycare payment. It takes us around 6-7 months to reach this spend.
I am considering the solid gold version though, which will take us 4-5 years of spend at 8500 usd.
Gold plated version likely have 30-100 usd of actual gold. Solid gold version is 10k gold and has about 1.5k to 2k worth of actual gold at current spot price.
My use case is simply whipping it out and paying with it (yeah I am shallow like that)
I am leaning toward the 24k one right now because -1000 is better than -6000 when it comes to loss and yes redeeming for this thing is definitely a loss
My concern for the 24k card is that it wont stand up to frequent use and being in my wallet.
Thoughts? Should I wait for the solid gold then? Doesn’t feel right to lose so much.
