Want to get started with a simple One shot as a GM

I have been frequently asked by a friend to try out some sort of dnd or ttrpg campaigns for a long time. But I've been ignoring him pretty much up until recently I got to watch some sample campaigns and how it works.

So, my friend wants me as a GM because i have a prior knowledge in board games and a weird (his pov, not mine) philosophy of isolation. Now i am also interested but want to get started with a super simple one-shot campaign to hook at least 3-4 people in my friend circle.

My goal is to make a campaign that is simple enough to not to be get overwhelmed by a lot of information, yet visually appealing to be attractive enough to get some people hooked. Also, my friends like non convention moment shifting ways to do things, which is why i can't play regular board games with them. After researching a bit, I came up with two different solutions but don't know what to go for:

  1. Run something that is already prewritten and see how it goes

Problem with this one is I can't find a perfect similar (free) ttrpg with my idea of isolation. If anyone has any, please suggest some.

  1. Create a huge story and get a simple part of it as a one shot with a satisfactory ending

I was intending to write a book on a world i have created for the past 6 months. So, I have prior knowledge about that. basically, the world is a blank state where memory is a resource of power as well as curse. So, you get to know who you are by slowly corrupting your mind.

Also, I have the ability to make a good quality cards by myself, so that's a power I can use in ttrpg gameplay. I also liked Dread Jenga mechanic and have a bunch of dices too (dnd dice and 50+ d6 dice).

So, what should i do? Found a small ttrpg called "Breathless" which is close enough for my ttrpg idea but as a beginner, should I focus on my world instead?
