Compatibility Issues? 22F & 23M
My bf 23M and I 22 F have been together for almost two years now and there are a lot of issues in our relationship that make me doubt our future together.
We have great physical intimacy but when it comes to emotional connection and having conversation it all falls flat. (In my opinion) He has expressed that he is content with our relationship. I’ve noticed he loves talking about himself but when it comes to me, he just ignores me or doesn’t have any interest entertaining the conversation.
Another big issue I have is that he has always wanted me to be someone I’m not. He used to have remarks like “I don’t like the glittery makeup ” or “you should gain weight” or “you should dress more like this.”
Recently I’ve wanted to play a game called subnautica 2 with him and I asked him to reserve the first play through with me instead of his friends. He seemed thoroughly bored and uninterested in playing with me when he hesitantly agreed. In my mind I used to have a guy friend that would love playing every new game with me and fully enjoy it together so this really bums me out.
Throughout the months I think I’ve begun to resent him and I’ve tried to leave multiple times, but each time he shows up to my house and doesn’t leave until I change my mind.
His friend group that he insist I hang out with (his sibling and their partner) seem to be really snarky towards me, calling me “egg head” & saying things like “she thinks she’s funny” right in front of me. My boyfriend has never defended me. I get the feeling that he has said things about me to them that make them feel comfortable being so outright disrespectful in a group setting. I need some advice.
