If I change my Majordome's ammo type to .50 BMG will it still fire in a spread type fashion or is that only derived from firing 12g pellets

In the 1950s if I am understanding the book right. We dropped insects to destroy crops and biological agents like anthrax and other deadly, spreadable bacteria. This was denied by the US of course but China literally got this info from our own pilots when their planes were shot down over China. And an international investigation also found it likely. We are truly the most unhinged bad guys this world has known.
