So I’m new. Started doing Uber Eats delivery as a way to get extra cash for my family (1st time dad).
For reference this is in chicago.
So I get a trip, travel 45 mins to deliver it just on the outskirts of downtown - very alive, yuppie, tight streets, and traffic.
As I approach I see the cast of “chicago PD” filming near the building and there’s parking enforcement strolling and giving tickets. (I’ve had my car towed before because of chicago PD show - but that’s another story)
This is one of the high rises where it’s multiple building connected by hallways so the entrance is on one end and you could see him on the other side of building three. I message as I approach and say “hey man they’re filming a show and won’t let me park here. They’re giving tickets and want people to leave asap - can I please get your pin and leave it with your security… “no answer, so I called, ignored. I quickly double park and ask the security to call - which he does - and they both have a condescending chat in which the guard says to me rudely “he said - “if you want the pin you need to come up here. Idc if you get a ticket.”
So I grabbed the food and went back to my car and started driving away. Not only because of what he said but parking maid and small traffic jam was forming. I immediately ping support (which idk how to feel about) and this guy starts lighting me up. I tell him what’s up and that I’m driving around the block but no pin no food…
Then the app gave me the option to take a photo so I swing back around and leave the food at the front desk with his security guard. I Make sure to get a pic with him in it and leave. Even had a quick chat with the guard where he was cool.
Report comes in saying he didn’t get the full order.
I tell uber what I just said and now I’m waiting.
AITA or do I have nothing to worry about?
