Questioned by cops after I hooked up with a homeless girl when she couldn't find a place to stay on vacation.
This was my first and probably last time using Tinder because the whole experience was just so bizarre to me. I decided to finally try out Tinder for the first time a couple months after I turned 18. The app kinda sucked because it was almost impossible to get matches, but one night, which was only my second day ever having Tinder, I swiped right on someone and got a match.
Like 2 seconds later she was already texting me, which really surprised me, and we started talking. Not even a few messages later she asks me to hangout, which caught me off guard, but I decided to say fuck it and we did.
She was kinda far away, so she had someone drive her all the way to me, and while shes getting driven over shes telling me about how bad the area is and how shes locked out of the apartment she was supposed to be staying in. Me not really knowing what to do, I tell her if she comes here I'll hangout with her for a while until the guy she was supposed to be staying with comes back and lets her in.
She finally shows up and we get in my car, then go to a parking lot just to chill and talk to pass the time. While we're talking shes telling me how she went to a different state to explore the area since shes gonna go there for college, and she was supposed to stay with this guy. The guy ended up never coming back to the apartment and was barely responding to her.
This guy was someone she hooked up with back home, and thats how she knew him and why she thought she could stay at his place instead of having to get a hotel and everything. So basically this girl was in another state by herself with no money and no place to stay, and had somehow been surviving like that for the past 4 days.
We end up talking for like 2 hours in an empty parking lot about her experience and whatever else, and sooner or later the idea of hooking up came up. We both decided since we were already in an empty parking lot and in a car that we should just hook up.
Now I live in a big city, so the parking lot wasnt completely empty and there was still security driving around. They werent really doing anything though, just making sure nothing illegal or crazy was happening. I end up driving farther into the parking lot to somewhere darker and more private, and some time later we're in the back doing it. Wasnt my best experience, but it was still pretty good.
Right when we finish, this cop car that was circling the entire parking lot stops like 30 or 40 feet away from my car and just starts staring at us. Now at this point I am scared SHITLESS. I've never been pulled over or arrested before and I literally did all of this in a car.
I quickly get dressed and sit in the front seat, trying to pretend nothing happened. Yeah I was kinda dumb because the cops obviously knew exactly what was happening, but then like 2 minutes later they drive away and I think I'm in the clear.
She gets dressed but we're still in the same parking spot just talking. Like 20 minutes later the cops are still driving around the parking lot and then they pull up right next to my car. Now I'm scared EVEN MORE. My mind is going so fast thinking shit, I'm about to be arrested, its over for me and whatever else.
Both cops step out of their car and start walking towards mine. I roll down the window and they start asking questions like, “What are you guys doing?” and telling us, “The parking lot is closed.” Apparently its open 24/7, but only for people charging electric vehicles, which I had no idea about.
The cops were chill though, and we told them we were gonna leave in 5 minutes and we did. Thankfully they didnt ask anymore questions, but it was so obvious they knew exactly what we were doing.
Then we left the parking lot and parked somewhere else, talking for another hour or 2 trying to figure out what to do. I couldnt bring her home, but I also couldnt just throw her out on the street because she literally had NO place to sleep.
The same way she found me on Tinder just to find someone to hangout with or help her survive, she ended up doing the same thing again. She found another guy and got him to send her money so she could stay at a hotel for the night. The next day she went to the airport and flew back home early.
I havent talked to her since and dont plan on it because this whole experience gave me so much anxiety. I deleted tinder right after that and dont plan on ever again
