Holy shit. They expended more than 50% of their patriot interceptors just fighting a few months against Iran. A quick search suggest price varies between interceptor types but the lowest is $4 million USD. So $6 billion expanded.

I hear the US aren't even trying to intercept all Iranian projectiles. They are prioritising those that are targeting higher value targets.

The estimates are by mid 2026 , China has 500 J-20s. While the article doesn't focus on the newer J-35, I believe their numbers are much lower, with production only ramping up.
