Just bought my ticket for Avengers in Raleigh- and it charged me a Dolby Atmos surcharge. Except Dolby Atmos isn’t at Raleigh… yet?
I assume they will be putting them in soon. A nice upgrade, except I don’t love the extra $2.50 a ticket. Oh well- if it is anything like Dolby Cinema then I’m down.

I have been trying to rewatch the series every 2 years for the last 8 years, my last rewatch being in July of 2024. This is just sad how even the throwaway jokes are just a haunting memory of how politics used to be somewhat civil.
I now call these rewatches my civic duty porn.

Alamo Instagram page just reposted an IG post of someone literally filming during a screening of The Odyssey for their Instagram account. Unreal.
Update: I felt that Alamo reposting this sets a bad precedent and encourages this kind of content creation, so I messaged them and they informed me that they shouldn’t have reposted the reel. They reached out to the original creator and the video has since been deleted.
If you see this kind of content in your feed- you should always reach out to the local Alamo and let them know.
At the end of the day, we all know that mobile ordering encourages phones out during the movie- which leads to these types of shenanigans. I hate it as much as the next person, but we can still try to be vigilant and make an effort to discourage non-ordering whenever possible. I still love seeing movies in the theater, and in my area Alamo is the only theater that tries to make an effort to discourage talking and texting, even when it feels counterintuitive. Hopefully movie goers will learn the rules and will abide by them. Sigh. Hopefully…

I am seeing the Rockies and Twins this year, Mariners next year, A’s in Vegas in 2028 and my last one will be the Braves in 2028 because I live in North Carolina and I want to go with some friends (Unless the Braves play the Yankees in the World Series because I would pay to see that as a Yankees fan)
