I deforested an entire Black Forest biome
Title says it all. As I was sailing to the Deep North, I found a Black Forest with many pine trees. Having struggled with getting wood, especially core wood, throughout my entire run, my instincts took over: I whipped out my axes and committed to the scalping of the Black Forest.
Phase 1:
Cut down every fir and pine tree in the biome. I used a mix of Skull Splittur and Thundering Bersirker Axes for the cutting, Thundering keeping mobs away as it procs lightning on tree hits. Asksvin armor set and Ashen cape for reduced stamina cost and also armor during nighttime.
In total, I cut down around 2000~ trees according to my statistics during this phase.
Phase 2:
Moving on to chopping every single log and stump, I also prepare a central location for storing all the wood, though I don't start the pickup process yet, as that will be faster in the final phase.
Phase 3:
For the final phase, it was time to harvest all the lumber. I used Moder's power here alongside Troll's Endurance and Ratatoskr mead for maximum weight capacity and quick movement for dropping off wood. Throughout the entire project, my Run skill went from level 90 to level 100; a testament to how much running around I did. In the end, I was left with the following amount of wood.
Around 148~ stacks of Core wood, totaling to 7400 Core wood.
Around 201~ stacks of normal wood, totaling to over 10050 wood.
And 2 bear trophies...I killed every bear I encountered (around 3 dozen total)
This entire project took around 15 hours total from start to finish. Now I can finally build!
As I prepared to pack my stuff, a thought occurred to me. A Plains biome bordered the Black Forest, and it had quite a lot of Birch trees...I probably need Fine Wood, too.
