I was exiting the condo building, I don’t know what i was thinking but i heard a screeching painful yelps from my chi - I’m crying as i write this i can never forgive myself - I turn around to see my dog’s left paw under the door, i immediately try to relieve his paw - slight swelling at first but I don’t see right now - he walked a bit - he let me put it in ice water for a few min and is currently sleeping in his crate. No limping. But I don’t know what to do, I’m so guilty i can never forgive myself, what have you guys done?

1.8 yr male chi mix (not neutered yet) vaccinated and on preventatives - never injured any paw before

Currently he is sleeping - he did walk a bit outside in the grass but he peed and wasn’t sniffing - i think he was in shock - he’s home now and sleeping in crate
