So I change my mind, this game is really good.

I played at launch and thought what was there was good, but so much stuff missing made it almost a bad game. Even watching kingsglave and the anime I never really enjoyed the game like I should of. I think part of that was the promises that were made and then what we received in the final product was totally different.

So nearly a decade later a pop open FFXV, this time royal edition, and watch the movie again and anime. This time my expectations aren't plaguing my experience and I'm REALLY getting into the game. The open world is awesome, the story is intriguing, and the party members really have a great bond that's unique in video games. I'm about 25 hours in getting ready to approach the 2nd half of the game and I've done nearly every hunt, explored a huge chunk of the map, and did all side quests I could find outside fetch quests. I know there's more to discover and I'm excited to do so.

I think the main reason is I actually love Noctis as a video game character, and his friends really make the dynamic of traversing the world awesome. I know I still have to finish it and the 2nd half can be a jarring difference but honestly I didn't mind it. I liked the more narrative style structured settings after being in the open world and done all the exploring I want. Kind of weird how a second playthrough of a game you were disappointed with can be so enjoyable.

I have some questions about FFXV.

So I've beaten FFXV years ago after watching the develo extremly hyped and enjoyed it but thought it was deeply flawed. I noticed that all the side content was basically cookie cutter fetch quests/kill monsters so I basically skipped it all and just did the story. Years later I bought Royal and the Ardyn DLC. So about 12ish hours in and just have some questions, I been doing a lot of side content/hunts and just been enjoying the open world more so I'm really that far along story wise.

The best time to play the DLC would be when they leave the party, and then Ardyns would be after I complete the game right?

I didn't collect all the Royal Weapons last time, just seen the end credits roll and decided to call it quits. This time I want to get them all. The problem is I tried to go after one and it was a lv 55 dungeon or something, I died quick. Are these meant to be done post game? So don't worry about collecting them all during the story or just wait until higher level? I only have 2 right now lol.

I know you get AP from warp strike kills, but it gets kinda boring just spamming warp strike to get AP. Do you have to do this or is there a better way??

Also when you use warp strike your MP bar goes away but it's like grey and then after a short time passes it completely goes away. I believe there's a way to get this to be restored but I can't remember?

And lastly if I wanted to use expericast to get some exp what's the best method to get the old coins, and does it matter which creature I use it on?? I know to use the inn for the 2x exp, but not sure I kinda remember a trick to getting the old coins.

Thanks !

Edit; also I been trying to do side content a lot more but I'm quickly becoming overpowered. Should I skip a lot of side content and only try to do the "important" ones with story?

How do you do this mirror/event if you don't use the gems?

I don't need any of the gems from the rift event, and I don't need to raise any of the offered gems from the event to 4*. Do I still want to try and to like 20 dry then run these mirrors (not f2p), or is it best to just straight up run these mirrors and what I get is what I get, save the extra crests for a better event ??

Do you buy both weekly crests, or save and buy a 5*??

I kind of go back and fourth with this.. not sure what the best approach is. I have 4k reso so using 3200 for 2 crests doesn't seem like the best move honestly when I can just save and buy the 5* I'm upgrading or even upgrading secondary gems. Thoughts??

Looking for a fantasy YA-style audio book lower on details.

So I just finished the fourth wing series and the Fae & Alchemy books and absolutely loved them. I was kind of hesitant on them being NSFW but I absolutely loved the story and characters in them, especially fourth wing with the dragons. I want something to listen to while I work so I kind of want an easy listen if that makes sense; these kind of books isn't huge into details that goes on for pages and is kinda faced paced.

I tried listening to Wheel of time but it's just so long details and hardly any action that my mind spaces then I ask myself what the hell is going on. I'll save these to read them. While I listened to Mistborn it's kinda the same way, so I kind of want a more YA-style.

I liked Legacy of Orisha (book 1 at least, didn't like what happened at the end with the characters.) And I absolutely love dragons with personalities (listened to Eragon book 1 but kind of fits with the 2 previous mention long details book.) I watched the Netflix show Shadow and Bone and really enjoyed that.

Any suggestions? Again the NSFW is optional I just don't want anything that's all about it. Thanks!

How do I get enough crit chance to get rid of mothers ?? Barbarian.

So I use 7 5* gems, and Mothers lv 8. I figured with hellbound releasing it was time to finally get rid of my last 2*. I got Hellbound 3* to lv 5 and did the 1 minute dps check and the mothers came out on top with +20m dmg. All my gear slots have crit chance on them, I use lv 5 5* blood floe, but I noticed big time that the critical hits was a lot less common.

Do you just have to have super high lv 5* gems to get rid of mothers and it be the right move?

Got a super weird phone call about back taxes and someone buying my house.

So my girlfriend got a text from a lady asking if it's her and that it's about the property, when she said it was her the lady then gave her phone number. She said she just bought the house over back taxes for $1800 and that we could contact the tax office and pay the 1800 to get the house back. She didn't ask for money, she didn't give a number to the tax office just the information. She did give her name and linked her Facebook which looks legit and goes back years.

I was at work so I asked if she gave any personal information and she said no, she was nice and said we owed 1800 and needed to pay it so we could get our house back. It's been a struggle the last year so we didn't pay our '25 taxes yet, but we have a mortgage on the house (which we were never late on) so technically we don't even own the house.

When she explained it to me my first thought was a scam caller but its weird she didn't ask for money or try to give us a scam number for the tax office. My next thought was maybe she tries to call in the morning before the tax office opens and tries to scare her out of the 1800$ but I don't know anything about this. It's a very weird situation. Does anyone have experience with this? I live in West Virginia if that matters at all and I plan to call the tax office first thing in the morning to get it sorted out.

Edit; Okay she did give her a phone number to call, I haven't got to verify if it's the right one or not. I told her not to call the number she gave you. To look the actual tax office up and call that number.

Question about wing customization (Double + Event)

So I only used the 1 free roll you get from the barber and I was thinking of trying to get the double wings. I heard 1k orbs should be enough (or 10 spins, whatever it comes out to.) but then I heard you can go way over. So I'm curious if there's any data on the odds of what roll would get your the second wings (not sure which comes first the double or the storage, but curious about the storage too.)

Also I know there was a wing event in the past. Do they still do them from time to time or was that a one time thing??

Thanks!

I read that you get orbs back from phantom gallery? Not the case?

It didn't say anything but when I was reading reddit to see if it would be worth it, I decided to go to 4 rolls for the masterwork chest (and ofc got the 4 lowest odd rolls.) but I never got any orbs back from the event. So is it different this time, or did this event never give you orbs back? Someone said when you spend like 2000 you get like 1200 back but that wasn't the case. Just wondering what's going on, I'm still happy with the stuff I got for 2400 orbs but if I got some back I'd probably went for the 5th roll to get the other 5* chest that's like 98% odds.

Does anyone know a good PvP barb build?? Info inside

So my reso is like 3.3k, but my secondary gems are awful (between lv 5 and 6), I been trying to work on these but it's a process. So I went with lower CR gear and 2 stats on both green and legendary with fort/will to try and boost those stats up. I was using a WW pvp build but it never let's me fight above or equal to my weight class, it destroys weaker opp but a lot of the time I am the weaker opp and it just gets destroyed and I do no dmg.

I tried out a few of the pvp builds from the community page, and even one from a YT video, but I've yet to find one that makes me stronger than my WW one. I like to be on the offensive and getting kills if possible.

So any suggestions on what to run would be greatly appreciated.

It's kind of a waste to buy GP with plat, huh?

I usually buy GP with Plat on the market when I get a decent amount and have the 5* to lvl up, but now I think about it, theres probably better stuff to purchase such as Secondary Gems which is super limited, and upgrading to the legendary runes?

Just curious what everyone thoughts are on using plat to buy GP from market.

So I need 1100 legendary/set items to finish my upgrades. Any suggestions?

I do all the daily/weekly activities; 3 random dungeons, verge, trift, bounties, diablo, vanguard, endless, but I'm curious if I wanted to focus farm these is there a good method or just keep doing what I'm doing and in a couple months I'll be there ?

I really want lv 30s so I can enchant gear, I feel like that's how you really get the endgame items. Any suggestions?

Can I safely use phoenix ash for gp?

I know diablo.tv says what gems you need for resonance but I can't find where a certain gem requires x gems for resonance (putting inside the gem and getting the benefits.) I know phoenix ash was deemed irrelevant since savior pets but I'm not sure if I would ever need them for reso from another gem.

Currently barbarian, have interest in warlock, tempest, and druid in future maybe? Thanks!

Gem question. Berserker vs blood floe.

As a Ww barb I'm thinking about taking out berserker and putting in blood floe. My berserker is lv 10, but I have the resources to get blood floe to lv 5. It seems like that would be a good increase? I'm a barb btw. Or I could get Collosus engine to lv 4. Would it be worth or is it better to just better to focus on getting my 2* to lv 8? I feel that's kind of bad because I'm going to switch to 5* anyway.

Other gems;

Pain clasp lv 6

Mothers lament lv 5

Spectre glass lv 5

Bottled hope lv 5 (2/5)

Roiling Consequence lv 5 (4/5)

Blood soak jade lv 5 (4/5)

Leviathan tomb lv 5 (4/5

Would it be worth getting

I was told to look for Lingering Wounds pet as a great PVE pet while I get my gems up for PVP. Seen this was 20k and there usually a lot more but I dont know anything about the pet system really so I messaged a high level with great gear and a great pet, told him all the info and he said its a great deal for a great pet so I bought it. Later I asked someone else to confirm it's a good pet, and thats when I was informed Quakestrider and Lingering Wounds does not work together :/

So I have 2 questions; Do I just put it back up for 20k and hope it sells? Someone told me I could try to gamble and move it to a new pet but idk even this mechanic, just convert and hope for the best? I would really like to dive into the pet mechanics and even watched a few videos but nothing really seemed to explain everything or in enough detail to where I grasped it. So my question is, do you know a good guide that will go into a deep dive into the pet system??

Thanks, I just really don't want to make this mistake again. I was just trying to upgrade my crappy pet I have and turns out I just threw money out the window lol.

So platinum of course is a huge problem for me, I'm at 1391 and 2k reso, but in I11 I'm like 2500 under the suggested secondary stats so I'm not getting any crit damage bonus or anything. I play probably 2 hours a day, and on the weekend I get around 3-4 hour sessions in. I was thinking of making an alt to farm platinum with the daily 300+gem selling, but at the same time that's taking time away from my main account. With how the game is set up though its kind of impossible to go beyond the daily gems+weekly activities.

I made a necro currently lv 42 and been progressing through the story, but I find myself split on which acc I want to progress since I don't have a whole bunch of time. I feel like once I invest the initial time into my alt it will be able to farm afk pretty easy.

On a second note, I'm having a hard time with how slow the necro is. I want to switch to barb so I'm quick (my mains a barb.) But then i know I won't have good afk, but I could always switch back to necro after I get further?

I know this post is a lot but just want some opinions. I think the plat alt would really help my main, but is it really worth it??
