QLD Government Jobs

Helloo!! I am having a hard time looking for jobs. I am currently doing my bachelors of nursing, but I haven’t been on placement yet until the end of this year. I have 5 years of hospitality experience and I have passion for cooking as well. I tried applying for food officer at QLD health and I am keen to also be a theatre assistant at a hospital, even if I do prep for operations and assist healthcare workers.

I need help, recommendations or referral if anyone knows or works in there. I am in north brisbane. I am happy to work in hospitals and love the environment. Just wanted to see and feel the vibe before I do my internship too.

I do also volunteer at RBWH if that helps. Thank you so so much & I hope to start soon xx 🤍🩷

How to get experience while in nursing school

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re all well. I am a nursing student, almost on my 2nd year as I commenced mid-semester last year. I was wondering how to get a job related to nursing so I can gain some experience while I’m studying at uni? I tried applying for PCA or aged care jobs, or even receptionist at some private hospitals, but I have been continuously rejected.

I do have my blue card, NDIS, CPR, and everything, but I haven’t gone through my first placement yet, as my university timeline aligns with the placement towards the end of the year. We did practice patient hand-over, vitals, changing sheets & showering, but I think aged care just really prefer 2nd years.

I also tried to volunteer at RBWH and I will be starting soon. I currently work at a local pub and have been there for 3 years now, but I am just really loving my course and wanted to find some ways to get into the industry and gain experience as early as I can. That way I wouldn’t be as anxious on my first placement and the second one 2 months after my first placement. I just really find that majority of my colleagues do work in health related field or AIN and it worries me as I don’t have health related experience yet.

Thank you so much for taking time to read my post. I hope you have a wonderful day 🩷🤍
