what do you think of my veneers? I did them at Lucid
I did NOT receive any discount/incentive for this review.
I was pretty nervous about getting veneers abroad honestly. Korea has a reputation for cosmetic dentistry and the prices are a big part of why people make the trip but that doesn't automatically make the decision easy, especially when you're only there for a short trip and don't have time for multiple appointments.
I went with Lucid dental mostly because I needed a one day option and they seemed to have experience with international patients. That part did make me feel slightly less anxious going in, just seeing that other foreigners had gone through the process there.
The actual experience was fine. They did a digital scan and designed the veneers based on my teeth rather than just picking a standard shape. The consultation covered things like thickness and preserving tooth structure, and they matched the color to my existing teeth. One thing they pointed out that I hadn't really thought about before was that the bonding material they use also comes in different shades, so they match it as closely as possible to your natural tooth color rather than just using a one size fits all approach. Nothing felt particularly rushed, which had been my main concern with doing it all in one day.
Results look pretty natural to me. I did 8 upper and 6 lower and my teeth don't look dramatically different, just more even and cleaner. Whether that's worth it really depends on what you're going for.
A few honest caveats though, the cost adds up fast especially for multiple veneers, and that's before factoring in travel. The cheapest option they had was the Lucinate Classic which ran me about 1.19 million won per tooth. So yeah it's not exactly pocket change, especially once you're doing 14 of them. English communication was workable but don't expect a seamless experience if nuanced questions come up. And like any cosmetic procedure, results are going to vary person to person.
If you're thinking about doing this in Korea, just do your research properly. Compare clinics, look at before and afters and figure out what look you're actually going for before you commit to anything.
