I had a defective Z button and eventually the controller stopped registering B after playing not even 3 hours later. After talking to 8bitdo support, they asked me for videos and proof of the defect. They ended with saying they will send and await permission from somewhere up in the food chain. I was originally under the impression that they ghosted me afterwards but no, they were just slow haha. In total it took like 20 days to get a replacement, but I am very happy that I didn't have to buy another one. No need for proof of destruction but your experience might be different.
