What is wrong with this fish?

I have a two inch comet goldfish and he was lonely. So I got a new one yesterday. He seemed fine but now I see he’s got this white bump on his side and it almost looks like his scales are being eaten away. How can I treat this and how can I keep my original fish safe?

Need tank plant advice

I am currently doing a fish in cycle for my comet goldfish. It’s been 11 days and I’m at 7.4 ph, 0ppm nitrite, 0ppm nitrate, and .25 ppm ammonia (which is why I’m doing a 25% water change right now). The only live plant is the small one in the front corner. What other plants can I add to help bring up the nitrate level and help with this bloom I have? The cloudy water is making me very uncomfortable and I can tell he’s lonely. I can’t get him a friend until the tank is cycled so I gotta get these levels changed fast. Also the ammonia has been reading .25 ppm for a few days despite multiple water changes. (Please don’t come for me for not having it cycled before I got him, he was literally left on my doorstep in a plastic bag and I had to buy a tank and research very fast)

My goofy guy playing in the bubbles

My mother in law and I work together at our local fire station, we recently had a carnival to raise money. On a Saturday night, she drove home and saw a flier on her windshield and was going to grab it later. But she forgot about it and then she went to a doctors appointment on Monday morning. When she went out to her car she saw that it wasn’t a flier, it was a goldfish in a plastic bag. He survived the entire drive home and then 3 days in the garage. I set him up with his new tank and I named him Tyson because he’s a fighter (like Mike Tyson). Now it’s been a week and he is thriving!!

Comet Goldfish won’t swim or eat

I accidentally was given a comet goldfish (long story) and then I got a second one (pictured) to keep him company. I am currently fish in cycling because I didn’t know about cycling before the fish was literally dropped into my lap. I have a 30 gallon tank. Ammonia is 0ppm nitrite is 0ppm and unfortunately nitrate is also 0ppm. He’s been sitting on the bottom and not eating. He’s barely moved in the past 8 hours. Yesterday he was a bit fine but not much better. When he does “swim” he more just floats around and sometimes moves his tail. I have no idea what to do, my other fish is thriving so I don’t think it’s tank conditions even though it’s not cycled yet. Please help!

Need care help!

I accidentally got a carnival goldfish (it was left on my car by someone else) and I immediately put him in a small bowl with tap water and gravel. I then learned that tap water is toxic and they can eat the gravel. I also learned that they are social and need friends. Today I got a 30 gallon tank, used water conditioner and bacteria cleaner, and used a quick start solution to add some good bacteria. I also have aquarium sand (rinsed) and come hides and fake plants. I have a filter (for a 60 gal tank) and an aerator too but I’m nervous my little guys won’t survive long because of the lack of preparation. I have strip tests for the water but I heard they’re bad. What else can I do for them?
