I’ve been battling this sickness for weeks
I’ve lost all 4 of my clown loaches
It’s not ick/epps
I’ve tried every treatment possible.
I have 15 tanks and I’ve never felt with anything I couldn’t fix but I’m at a loss on this.

Hi everyone! This is my 10+ year old crystal parrot fish named Potato. Recently he developed what I’m assuming is swim bladder disease. I immediately began to fast him and moved him into a 40 gal hospital tank. After a few days it was clear he was having bowel movements so I resumed feeding him 4-5 large cichlid pellets every other day. I have also been doing 15 minute Epsom salt baths every day. He is not getting better and decided to stop eating today. The issue clearly isn’t constipation (I think) so I’m thinking it’s something internal, parasitic or bacterial. What medication should I start with? I would prefer to dose the water rather than feed medicated food since he won’t eat right now. Thank you so much!!!

Hey yall! Ive had this rosy red minnow for about two years now (got him as a feeder fish from petsmart, life expectancy was like a week if that) and he’s also had some weird quirks i’ve attributed to poor breeding and genetics. This is where he got his name, Stupid Fish, because he is very stupid (digging in rocks, refusing to school, swimming vertical circles, digging up plants, splashing me while i sleep, etc). Today I noticed a lump on him and went back through photos and he’s had it at least since august 10th. I did recently move my aquarium back with me to college, and i had to do a 100% water change due to an issue i had with WSSV and my crayfish. I also got new plants, and two new platties (all properly quarantined). with the big changes i was concerned this was a stress thing, but august 10th is BEFORE any of these changes. I’ve also been heavily monitoring water levels and quality due to these changes, and they have been excellent and stable.

he doesn’t have symptoms of dropsy, ich, or swim bladder issues and i’m very concerned this could be a tumor/cyst or like cancer.

i wanted to go to reddit first, but in the mean time because i am on a college campus for an R1 research university, i will be asking our bio department for any fish experts or grad students to help me.

Hi. My 95 gallon tank has been treated for ich successfully. However two of my rainbows have these patches on their mouths that will not resolve. Is this columnaris?

Plan on putting both in a 10 gallon hospital tank, not sure how to treat. Appreciate advice thanks!

When I woke up this morning, I went to go check on my tank and then I noticed one of them was missining its whisker I have 8 buenos aires tetra and five cherry barbs and I swear this guy had it yesterday

Approximate 4 year old goldfish, previously in 55G tank with 5 other siblings fish. Approx 3 weeks ago, he began having difficulty maintaining buoyancy, and would struggle to swim vertically to the surface then sink repeatedly. Appears to have misshaped body/disfigurement to lower spine?
Tried peas and salt baths in hospital tank to address swim bladder issues. QT tank has bio filter and bubble stone. Water parameters and temperature normal.
Had mild discoloration of fins, treated with melafix then on to kanaplex and metroplex, with appropriate timing for doses and water changes.
Meds remedied fin appearance but the behavior and buoyancy has not improved. Sits on bottom of tank, staring into the corner, flutters up on occasion, still attempts to eat.
Any suggestions or ideas as to cause? Thank you!

I have a two inch comet goldfish and he was lonely. So I got a new one yesterday. He seemed fine but now I see he’s got this white bump on his side and it almost looks like his scales are being eaten away. How can I treat this and how can I keep my original fish safe?

How to help my fish? Hes darker than normal he can barely swim, his mouth looks rotten and it looks like he has popeye. I vacuumed the tank rocks Saturday morning he was fine all day until Sunday morning he was acting weird So I did a half water change, hes in a small container so he can still breathe as he was barely swimming in his tank. I dont trust random remedies from google and Im not even sure whats wrong with him it happened so fast

What would cause a goldfish to swim upside down?

My friend has a beautiful aquarium, but one of his rainbow bars has this mass growing on its side. Does anyone know what it is?

the golden ram has a bacterial infection I am here to ask if this is good for a hospital tank for now as I don’t have any other tanks and the tank it was in the medicine would kill off some other guys in it

Hi everyone so I’m posting on behalf of my boyfriend, he has a 25-30 gallon cube tank that’s been going for almost a year. He has a Purple Fire Fish that hasn’t been doing well- I’ll post the photos of him. He dosed the tank with Melafix this morning. Unfortunately he doesn’t have a quarantine tank so we don’t have somewhere we can move him to be alone. All water levels are fine, he’s been checking. If anyone has any suggestions we would really appreciate it 🐟

EDIT: Heres water levels: Ph 8.2-8.4, KH 6.5-7 dosing daily, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 26.5 (elevated, water changing down to 20), Salinity 1.026, Temp 78°F, Magnesium 1400, Calcium 400, Phosphate .07
He’s sluggish and breathing hard, back body curls upwards, he’s eating.

They started to shake and stay in a corner and in the last few days there are white dots that are starting to appear on them, and i was wondering what i should do? I have a 20 gallon tank, with rainbow fish and im going to test the water quality soon.

Hello! I have been dealing with a problem that only seems to affect my female zebra danios. The past 2 fish I have lost since setting this tank up have been female zebras, seemingly from the same problem. They look normal when I buy them, but they gradually bloat until they get dropsy. I have had to euthanize 2 due to pineconing and swim bladder dysfunction. I have 3 left (2 females, 1 male). The males are never affected, and neither are the females of my other species. I have tried feeding them less (one pinch a day) and tried their spawning method (2-3° cooler 25% water change at dawn separated from main tank with males) with no results. I really hate to see them progressively get worse and have no idea how to help or what might be causing it. Any advice would be great!

Parameters:

20 gallon tank, activated carbon filter, air bubbler, live plants, medium-sized pebble substrate

Tankmates: 4 brilliant rasboras, 3 ember tetras, 3 sparkling gouramis, and 50-ish neocaridina shrimp

72° (dechlorinated) water

My strongest fish has been unable to swim normally for the past few days ever since the power went out because of a storm. I thought that may have had something to do with it but im now seeing a grey fuzzy thing or unusual grey texture or scrape that’s on her side. Does anybody know what that could be and if that’s whats making it difficult for her to swim horizontally. she’s trying her hardest so I’m really sad that she’s struggling.

the tank size is medium-ish and normal ph. I have to ask my parents. They are extremely diligent about the water quality and tank care.

This Panda Cory, I found on its side just now and I thought it was dead. But then I looked closer and its gills were still moving. It’s not eating, it’s not exploring, it’s only sitting stationary and moves ever so slightly if touched by my hand or another fish, and goes right back to sitting — no interest in food at all.

I came bqck from vacation a few days ago and realized it and the other Panda in the background (both Longfin Pandas), were missing some of their previously long flowy fins, and i don’t have hardscape, and its a Cory only tank, so i dont know why. But maybe thats related. There’s also white/clear at edge of fins.

I put the Panda upright to get a good quality picture. I immediately did a 25% water change, and tested my parameters. pH is upper 7’s or 8.0 and Ammonia is 0ppm, Nitrite is 0ppm …. So my parameters seem okay and same as before I went on vacation.

I don’t know what’s wrong with it and I don’t know what to do, I think it’s about to die …. Is there any way I can save it?? Any medication? (I have a million on hand) …. Thank you 😢

(20g Long, Fluval Aquaclear 50 and prefilter intake sponge, two Sponge Filter 10’s, sand, live plants, lid, Neos, Assqssin Snails, pest snails, scuds). 😢

EDIT since returning from vacay I’ve also noticed a couple fish Flashing (rubbing quickly against the sand as if scratching an itch)…. So I’m worried if they caught some illness too.

Names: White goldfish is Rip and the blue guy is named Splinter.

I believe this to be the ich but I am unsure, and not knowledgeable with aquariums, got into them because I love animals.

What's the best way to treat or medicate Rip?

It's a 90 gallon tank with all chemicals properly balanced, double checked it as i do have strips for that.

Ammonia levels: i have a detoxifier, I am unsure of the exact levels as I can't afford the 50$ price tag on the strips

I got a proper filter on it but had been 5 days late of my weekly clean up (depressed & trying)

The filter set up is what came with the tank, 100 gallon.

I put a corse sponge by the entry way, fine sponge, active carbon, Ammonia detox, and bio enhancer on the appropriate levels.

I noticed the white one with the red bump under its mouth about a week ago and today I saw the black one that looks beat up? What am I looking at? Are these wounds? Growths? External parasites?
