Can a society refuse to allow school buses inside?

In my society, school buses are not allowed inside, so every day I have to take my kid all the way to the main gate for pickup and again go there in the evening.

I've seen in many other societies where school buses are allowed in, take a round through the society, pick up the kids and leave. So I asked our management if we could do something similar.

Their response was that there are only a few kids using this particular bus, so they can't allow a whole bus inside just for them.

Has anyone dealt with something similar in their society? Is there any practical way to take this up with the management? Also, can the society just refuse such a request outright?

Can our cities ever become well-planned, or is it too late now?

Every time I spend even a few days in another country and come back to India, this thought hits me.

Why do our cities look so messy?

Electric wires hanging everywhere, broken footpaths, bad drainage, garbage, roads dug up every few months, no planning at all.

I know there are cities in the world that were once chaotic too, but over time they became much more organized with proper urban planning.

Even poorer countries have got town planning figured out.

Can something like that ever happen to our existing cities? Or are we already too deep into this mess to fix it?

If you're moving to a city for the long term, is buying better than renting?

Let's say you're moving to a new city and know you'll be staying there for a long time.

In that case, does renting make sense?

Cause if I buy a home, the money I'd otherwise spend on rent goes towards the EMI instead. After 10-15 years, at least I'd own the house. If I keep renting, I'll still spend a huge amount over the years, but won't own anything in the end.

In this situation, which option would you choose and why?

Bhayandar-Vasai Double-Decker Bridge - A 10-Minute Dream or Another 25-Year Wait?

I was reading up on the latest infrastructure updates, and the MMRDA has officially submitted a revised proposal for the Bhayandar-Vasai Creek Bridge.

This project has been stalled since 2000, but they've just proposed a massive design overhaul: it's now a ₹2,500 crore double-decker bridge with an upper deck for Vehicles and the Lower one for the metro

Right now, a drive between Bhayandar and Vasai forces you onto a congested 39 km route via NH-48, taking anywhere around 90 minutes. This 5 km bridge will cut that down to just 10 minutes.

Areas like Naigaon and Vasai Road, which historically suffered from "suburb of a suburb" stigma due to terrible road connectivity, are going to be directly linked to Mumbai’s western suburbs. MagicBricks is already forecasting a major real estate re-rating for townships in Mira Road, Bhayandar, Vasai, Nalasopara, and Virar.

However, there’s a catch. Work hasn’t started because they are still awaiting clearances from the forest department and salt commissioner (unresolved compensation for 119 salt pan workers/families). This project was first conceived in 2000 and cleared back in 2013. We are over a decade later, and they are still sorting out land acquisition for salt pans and mangrove clearances.

Do you think this price run-up is already baked into under-construction projects in Naigaon/Vasai, or is there still room for 2x growth?

With the bridge cutting travel time to 10 mins, would you prefer buying into a premium gated community in Vasai/Virar over a cramped apartment in Dahisar/Borivali?
