This home near me has a French drain with no daylight. Heavy clay soil. Any idea why he wouldn’t just daylight into street? Central Nj, not sure if there is an ordinance. I see plenty of people daylight gutter drains into street.

I have similar style yard, considering the same but would prefer daylight.

Laundry faucet needs replacing (tried valves already ).

Is it as simple as screwing off and replacing with this?
