Tomorrow is the big day! RTKR

And I think I’ve distilled my fear down to its biggest component, unknown pain. 53 F, I’ve birthed children, one of them at home, with zero meds. I fell and broke my femur on the ice last year (other leg) and that was absolutely excruciating. Had an emergency ORIF of the femur head and long recovery plus broken ribs and other injuries from the fall. I just don’t know what to expect. Is it sharp pain? Dull achy pain? Throbbing hot pain? Dry pain? Wet pain? SOMEBODY TELL ME lol

T minus three days

Hi all, long time lurker. 53, F, having right TKR on August 20. I just want to thank everyone who has shared their experiences because this sub is an invaluable source of information. I fell and broke my left femur in Jan of 2025 and I feel like I’m much more prepared for recovery this time because I’ve planned this, and because this sub has provided and reinforced so much information about this surgery and recovery beyond what my surgeon and the team have. And my team has done a wonderful job so far. I guess my one question is this; will I be able to do my desk job from home a week after surgery? I make my own schedule and only work mornings four days a week. I’ve scheduled breaks for movement, rest, and pain medication.
