Corruption estimate: 1.5 Lakh crores (or US $16 Billion) is what control of TN yields!
I wanted to estimate the total corruption potential in TN.
(Note this is straight up theft from budget through contractor commissions etc. I will give you a separate estimate for other bribes including stealing natural resources through quarries, sand mining etc.)
Based on how the budget is split between rigid obligations and corruption prone contract work, it looks like anywhere from 3.2% to 6.5% of the total budget gets directly lost to corruption or illegal systemic leakages.
the state's total projected budget is around INR 4.8 lakh crore or US $50 billion for 2026-27.
So corruption money works out to an estimated INR 15,360 Crores to INR 31,200 Crores every single year. Or In USD, $1.6 Billion to $3.25 Billion annually.
Over five years this amounts to INR 76,800 Crores to INR 1,56,000 crores, or $8.0 Billion to $16.25 Billion.
The naai adi, pei adi sandai to come to power is to control this. And it’s winner take all.
Almost everyone (some exceptions exist) who joins a political party joins with intent to partake in some of this.
Will Vijay be able to stop his party members from accessing these funds?

This money will buy us 10 Mumbai international airports.
Free college education for all TN residents.
Free healthcare (prepium hospital level).
State of the art downtowns for world class cities and more.
But it’s lost because we have reduced to name calling each other here (egged on by some it cell members on both sides, who gleefully watch the engagement).
