🎨 Public Creator Profiles got a full glow-up
Desktop + mobile creator pages have been fully redesigned for a cleaner, more polished creator showcase.

🧑‍🎭 Persona Editing + Persona Library
You can now edit personas more easily, plus we added a new Library Personas component to make persona management smoother.

👋 New Onboarding Flow
Fresh onboarding experience is live, including better desktop onboarding for guests and unauthenticated users.

📝 Short Bio for Characters
Characters can now have short bios, making profiles easier to scan and more personality-packed.

Jump back into chats faster and keep the story going.

Memory should now behave more reliably.

Chat rewind and delete flows got repaired.

Persona selection on desktop is now smoother.

Improved logout/version handling so the app stays more stable after updates.

**Quick follow-up since V0.2.9 🚀 V0.2.9-v2**

A few more things have landed:

- **New Design Wide Desktop Beta! :** Wider screen for more discoverability and more content fit for desktop users for explore page and character page! Check screenshots below!

- **Smarter Long-term memory:** fixed inconsistent long-term memory so characters stay coherent over longer chats in the longer memory tab inside chat.

- **Personas fixed:** the first message now shows your **persona name** instead of your username.

- **Search bug squashed** + adult-filter API fix and faster search.

- Default FREE ai model has more context! 128k context memory!— more soon.

*Known bug:

There is a bug where you need to logout and login every time there is an update or you might have a bug! We will try fix this bug soon!

Hey everyone! 👋 We just shipped **V0.2.9** after a busy couple of weeks. Here's everything that's new:

**:sparkles: New Features**

- :compass: Reworked Explore page with For You , Trending, and New feeds, a rebuilt hashtag filter (with sorting + up to 5 tags), a NEW badge on recent content, and a cleaner header/sidebar layout.

- 📝 **Full HTML/CSS character bio** — bios now render rich formatting in a safe sandboxed view, with a **"Read full bio"** toggle for longer ones. (example screenshot below like https://www.storychat.app/character/6a23b63900df3b526d698073 )

- 😎 **Emoji shortcodes in char bio** — type things like `:tada:` and they auto-convert to emoji in preview and display.

- 🧠 Cheaper and better storychat model for new accounts and fresh logins and free usage with daily points.

**🩹 Bug Fixes**

- 💬 Fixed **chat history vanishing** (stale data was overwriting live messages) + auto-summary toggle now persists correctly.

- 🖼️ **Moodsnap / emotion images** no longer disappear when reopening a chat.

- 🎙️ Fixed the **voice regeneration bug** (broken voice IDs + default voice repointed).

-⌨️ **Chat input box** auto-resize fixed — the footer no longer hides your latest message and it shrinks correctly.

- 🍎 **Explore + Safari fixes**: drag-to-scroll, first-click issues, arrow buttons, sidebar positioning, and mobile back-arrow direction.

This isn't a replacement for the in-app discovery we're actively improving — think of it as a community hangout where your creations get a spotlight while we keep building.

The winner is chosen by random draw, not upvotes. Here's why: fandom characters tend to get an upvote on name recognition alone, even from folks who haven't tried them — which buries original characters before they get a fair shot. A random draw means a brand-new OC has exactly the same odds as an established favorite. This isn't a popularity contest; it's about encouraging everyone to create freely without fear of being invisible. Make something weird. Take a swing. You're welcome here.
