Handling and holding my Gecko

I’m wondering if people have tips or anything about handling or holding your gecko? I got my gecko ducky the first week of May and I’m trying to get her used to me handling her so I can go take her for a general check up at the vet here soon to make sure she is happy and healthy, but to do that I want her to be comfortable with me handling and holding her so she is less stressed out. I am a first time owner as well 🙏

My mom (who had geckos when she was younger) told me I need to just take her out of her tank for 5-10 minutes a day and be more confident when handling her, but I feel bad doing this, I feel like I’m forcing her to hang out with me almost haha.

She does seem a little nervous at first when I grab her but then calms down after a little while. When I put her back in her tank she doesn’t run away immediately or seem unhappy and will eat afterwards as well. My question is that is this okay to be doing? I want to build trust with her and be able to hold her more often but I’m worried I’m not doing this correctly or I might be stressing her little self out?

I already tong feed her and put my hand in her tank for a couple minutes already before I began starting this as well.

Tank set up

Hey all, I’m wondering if my tank set up is good for my gecko Ducky

I am a first time lizard owner and I’m still gaining her trust and ability to hold and handle her so I felt really bad having to take her out of the tank to reset it in the first place but it had to be done to make it better for her

I just reset it to better suit her needs but if I did anything wrong or it doesn’t look like it will be beneficial for her please let me know!

It’s a bioactive tank and I added much more hides and places for her to go than her original set up as well.
